  1. RX7 calipers are 158.75 (6.25") between the holes. Why is using Honda single piston calipers on KE30 discs an upgrade?! I am about to do a brake conversion for a Corolla. Either VL (or RX7 calipers but doubt these will fit) and a 275mm vented disc. Trying to get them under a 14" rim!
  2. I come on here for a look every now and then. Starting to gather parts to build a KE25 for a friend.......
  3. 10/79-8/85 20 series Liteace's have an E series diff. E252 = 4.556 E362 = 4.778 E152 = 5.125 E282 = 4.3 Try a YM21 which have the 4.3 diff. MX3# cressidas have a 3.9 diff centre which will fit and be nice and tall on the highway!!
  4. I know a guy who fitted 254mm (10") vented discs and Volvo 4 spot calipers to his Datsun 1600 and had 13x6.5" 'jelly bean' style mags. Most 13" rims should fit.
  5. Plenty of good pads available for these calipers and they are a pretty slimline design to fit under smaller rims.
  6. Thats good! I thought they only have around 5mm of machined area to locate the wheel and when you slide over the disc it dissappears, but its been awhile since ive taken any notice of a Corolla hub! When you fit wheels with a larger centre bore, you should fit hub rings.
  7. I know! Imagine coming down a hill full noise into a corner with all that load on only the 4 front studs- worries me sometimes. I know KE10's don't have the centre locating bit on the back of their axles but the front is way more important. I make up a few bracket for Commodore brake conversions and possibly will look into doing some for Corolla's soon.
  8. Good conversion, I've been thinking about doing something like this for awhile. The only thing is, when mounting the disc over the front of the hub, is there enough hub sticking out to locate the centre of the wheel still? It's pretty important that the wheel is located on the hub which takes all the load and not just held on with the studs which only should stop the wheel from spinning. http://planetsoarer.com/offset/studs.htm
  9. Yeah I should be going to the drifing at Basky. I'll bring the tyres home and keep them here until then.
  10. Maybe they are both wanting them for the same project?? Thats all the tyres I have Brendan sorry.
  11. I got 4. Just down to the tread blocks $30 lot.
  12. Damn! I read this too late!!
  13. Anyone got a KE30 Jap banjo diff?? No centre needed. [email protected]
  14. Over the hill at Baskerville
  15. I used KE20 hubs and got a thin steel ring machined up and pressed onto the back of the hub to locate a 260mm E30 BMW discs which were redrilled and threaded to bolt to the hub. Adaptor brackets were used to mount a VB-VP Commodore caliper (light weight and lots of pad choices). Not sure if any 13" rims will fit though.
  16. Yes it has white GT stripes, or did... All my old blue car was missing was a close ratio box. A friend of mine bought a Holinger straight cut 4 speed just after I sold the car. He sold it to a guy in Melbs.
  17. Hi guys! I used to own the old light blue KE10 mentioned in this post and thought i'd share some info. I bought it in 2000 from a guy in Burnie who got it out from storage in a barn somewhere. It had been converted back to a road car and he managed to find the original engine and a few extra goodies and put it all back together as a registered race car with stripped interior. I freshened up the motor after spinning a big end bearing (rod bolt stretch?) I used to rev it to 8500 (cam didnt cut in to 6000) and it easily revved to 9500 but didnt need to. It went quicker than ever when I had it. 1.08 at Symmons (all the 1600cc ford cortina/anglia/escort guys don't know how it did it!) 1.05 first time out at Basky. I put BMW 318 discs with Commodore calipers on it and a new Datto 1200 master cyl With KE20 hubs to match the KE10 stud pattern on the rear (it had KE30 hubs on the front) The TRD LSD was worn and I couldnt buy parts for it so I fitted a welded centre which was better. I sold it to a guy who could only manage 1.14 out of it at Symmons, he blew axles, the engine, trashed the interior, crashed it and played with the wiring. It is a very quick car and I do miss it! I know a bit about the white one too. It has pedders revalved struts, Volvo rear wagon coils, 180B sway bar and was built by Graham Smedley who's dad used to race them KE10's years ago. The beige KE10 was built by an old mate of mine Bob. I think he did 10's around basky but the girl he sold it to got down to 6's in it with the 4A-G.
