  1. Watch the 'what its like to work in a music store' playlist :( http://www.youtube.com/user/averyellis#p/c/30EE448D78A06FA0
  2. Mercedes haven't made a decent car since the W124 :( And besides, these dirty nasty Vitos are built in Spain
  3. Well the brake lining one, the bulb failure, the TRC flashes constantly, and random other ones which flicker on and off occasionally...
  4. My f*cking Vito Is f*cked AGAIN The parts haven't even turned up for the LAST fault, and now I have an assortment of warning lights, squealing and grinding brakes (they've already been replaced once before) oh and just for fun, one of the headlights blew this morning. That's the 5th one. And 6 tail light bulbs. In 40k's. I'm gunna burn this bucket of shit, and I'm going to enjoy it.
  5. There's a saying regarding FNQ... They say if you shove anything into the ground, it'll grow. Teddy proved that last time he was up here, by throwing a random cutting out on the footpath which is now a suitably healthy shrub. But this... This is ridiculous. My Volvo 740 has sprouted.
  6. Post me an esky full, and I'll leave a few bricks in the sun for 10 minutes and freight them over to you.
  7. I wouldn't mind a bit of cold... Winter sort of bypassed the pointy end of the continent. Usually, its utterly perfect this time of year... 25 deg days, 15 deg nights. This year has been weird though... I think I've worn a jacket maybe once. Right now I'm shirtless (hello ladies) and sweating.
  8. *sigh*
  9. You kids SUCK Now get the hell off my lawn.
  10. They are intelligent. They are very, very clever. They've found a way to get paid extremely well, free car, free house, paid expenses, all out the taxpayer's pocket, retire wealthy, AND convince the public its money well spent. If that isn't clever, I dunno what is.
  11. + 446327954362 rwkw
  12. Oh don't get me started on those Climateworks f*cks... Trivia time! Guess who runs it... Ex deputy-premier John Thwaites, of the Labor party. Info: http://abcnewswatch.blogspot.com/2010/03/c...ks-for-alp.html
  13. Cheers for the tip, tried it last night. Alas, no love. I still have ghosts in control of my windows. I'll be driving along, not touching a damn thing, and they just start going nuts. The passenger side likes to stay down occasionally, making a tik tik tik noise for about 5 minutes. The driver's side switch doesn't affect the passenger window at all, but sometimes the driver's window switch works, but backwards. Must have been friday arvo in Spain when they built this one. Anyway, it's back at the dealer now, costing me money in downtime.
  14. Ah good... Someone else to pick up the 'alternative fuels/useless government/corporate monopoly' ball and run with it. Saves me having to go on a rant for a change :jamie: I'll just throw in a few keywords for fun... Diesel Algae f@$k hybrids Also of note, as per Philbeys post... Enthanol is hydroscopic. This is indeed a problem for tropic dwellers like myself. Caltex did a trial run of E85 up here a few years ago for exactly that reason. Just two servos, and the pumps had a big USE AT OWN RISK sign on them followed by a lengthy statement of indemnity. There were a lot of dead cars shortly thereafter, so they removed the pumps. A good friend of our family runs a commercial Biodiesel plant... And he too is having endless grief with water contamination. There's also the issue of running Bio in common rails... And although he HAS created a blend which works (he's been running it in his own Hilux for about a year now) he's not prepared to release it for public consumption for fear of lawsuits. Still early days for a lot of alternative fuels... More research needs to be done, more investment. SCIENCE! Oh having a government in power who isn't afraid of big oil and coal lobbies would be nice too, but I guess that's just asking too much.
  15. Get thee to a wagon! I like the new Skodas... I had a Skoda Octavia Estate not long ago as a rental and was seriously impressed. The Audis and VWs might be slightly better, but not worth the extra millions of bucks if you're just chasing an economical family car. Everyone needs a wagon :jamie:
  16. It'll be spectacular, seeing as it will also be on fire, and I'll be plugging shotgun rounds through it as it trundles toward its salty demise
  17. Both regulators have already been replaced. Its the switch cluster or the BCM this time. Either way, its going back to Merc to be inserted up the service manager like so many pineapples up Hitler's arse.
  18. Whinge o'clock My f*cking useless bucket of shit 60 thousand dollar Mercedes Vito Lets spin the wheel of misfortune and see which component is going to fail THIS week! *drum roll* Thrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr *TAA DAAAAAAA* Ooooh look its the window control module. Now I needn't worry about all that tiresome finger pressing to control when my windows go up and down, because my Mercedes now has a resident ghost living in the f*cking door who decides when that happens! Right now, Mr. Ghost has decided that both windows should remain in the 3/4 down position. Mr. Ghost evidently felt as though he needed to take a little shower, because its PISSING DOWN RAIN YAAAAAAY! Dear sweet Xenu I hate this van. More problems in a scant 40000 k's than my previous 4 Hiaces (fyi: I had to replace one radiator) and over 1 million k's. This demonstrably failtacular european snotbox has been back to the dealer at least once a month since I got it, different problem every time. I'm seriously considering pushing it off the continent. PS. If I DO actually push it off the continent, I will edit this post to reflect that I was never even remotely considering the idea of doing such a thing purely to collect the insurance and escape the lease. GAAAAAAAAH!
  19. Hopeless, pathetic, shortsighted and counterproductive grab at left leaning voters. Thankfully, it won't work. Leftists/Environmentalists/rational intelligent humans with even the vaguest grasp of the 'bigger picture' already know where their primary vote is being cast, and it's not towards the party/parties trundling out some token quasi-environmental policy in a vain attempt to lure back disenchanted Green voters.
  20. Gutter mounts are pretty much universal. The height of the feet can vary, as can the length of the bars... But you can adjust all of that and trim down the bars if they're too long.
  21. Or at least free of carbon buildup
  22. Well you can't, unless you're a Japanese resident. Which is why people use Jesse, cos he's pretty much the only Aussie in Japan providing the service.
  23. Yup, but I use Streeter... Importmonster's system is the best, but expensive.
