the a series is in my opinion a stronger motor, i have driven all including 3k, 4k, a12, a14, a15 and theres just something about the a series. the k series feels like your driving with the handbrake on lol
the regional section is for posts that relate to things that happen in the state or are state specific. there are other areas on the forum for things like stuff for sale. when you need help from a local member, have questions relating to local government, want to note on a state specific event, and so on. the sa forum is not for chit chat (thats what chat rooms or chat programs are for). when a topic is answered then let it sit but when people start going off topic then we begin to have a problem. if you stick to the topic then all will be fine.
also don't have a go at mystik as he is doing what is right. have a go at those people that don't stick to the topic.
so this month i was thinking windy ... tea tree gully, lobethal, verdun, stirling ... will be a follow me cruise coz i can't be stuffed writing up a route for that one
yea but i have found that some members i have delt with are drift crazy and may bring unwanted attention ... please put a large note saying no hooning will be tolerated lol
lol note possibly ... I'm trying mate but money is tight, so far i have the new radiator in and the brake upgrade to make it stop when it has more power ... will the setup sitting in the back be enough?
well hello to all in the rollaclub world,
for a couple of months now i have been holding cruises for the datsun community on the last weekend of each month. last month we invited the gemini crowd and it was a good turnout but still not up with some good numbers.
so this i an invitation to all in the rollaclub world in whatever they drive to tag along for a good night, meet some new people and just have a little fun.
details: we meet at mile end bunnings at 6:30pm for a 7pm leave on the last saturday of each month and have multiple cruise routes but mostly finish up down at west beach
hope to see you all out and should be lots of fun
well the head was supposed to be rebuilt (new valves, skim re shimed) but i was a lil suspisious as to wether they forgot a stem seal or stuffed one up
ok so the head popped between 3 and 4. so i compression tested today and i got 170 165 165 170. i checked the plugs and 1-3 are fine but theres a small amount of oil on the plug ... 1-3 80-90% burn back and 4 20-30% burn back and wet at the base
how much is a new engine these days ... i hate working on these and we have the carburated version (1989)
ok so heres the story ... a lil while back we threw a head gasket on the girlfriends car so i replaced it ... threw another on a few months later so this time the mechanic had it and the head had some work done including all new valves. now before it went to the mechanic it never blew any smoke and ran a real dream but now its back from the mechanic and it smokes heavier than a pack a day smoker, lots and lots.
the question is, is there anything that could have gone wrong when they did the work on the head?
