  1. end result a lot better but hey? like lots more power... I was kind of not wanting to go the turbo route though because stock turbo's are gay and a new one is at least $2500 for a decent one. hmm..... stuff it. 3S-GTE \m/ TE71 GT \m/
  2. so... how hard is it to get a 3S-GTE into north south figuration? not that i'm considering one or anything..... at all..... *cough cough*
  3. there's a small article on toymods.org.au 1. www.toymods.org.au 2. click tech from the list on left 3. click 4A-GTE he mentions about the different heads and benefits etc.. at least i think it's there. i can't remember.
  4. Wrong negative 3.9L 6 cyl Bore and stroke: 92 x 99 mm Power: 120kW at 4250rpm Torque: 311Nm at 3250rpm Overhead camshaft, 2 valves per cylinder Fuel system: EEC IV fuel injection Compression ratio: 8.8:1 4.0L 6 cyl Bore and stroke: 93 x 99 mm Power: 162kW at 4900rpm Torque: 361Nm at 3000rpm Overhead camshaft, 2 valves per cylinder Fuel system: EEC V fuel injection Compression ratio: 9.3:1
  5. 13B.... N/A Monster Portage \m/
  6. cool guys. sounds like you know what you are talking about which will come in very handy! I'll let you know of any new ideas/etc I come up with/modify.
  7. 3.9 dodgy centrefire buckets of poo that came out in EA falcons? they suck ass. get one from like an EL falcon or something. even an AU. ooh... a BA XR6T ENGINE!!!
  8. Falcon 4.0 Inline 6 Big cam Exhaust Port the shit out of the head etc Smash it into the front of the car (goodbye firewall) hello no stopping or turning. btw how's my old KE going? got any pics?
  9. yeah it was just I didn't know how much heat superchargers made, especially compared to a turbo. Also you know how the GZE's don't rev as high as the N/A ones; what things can you do to give it a bigger rev limit? probably not as crazy as Ueo's one that revs to like 12500 haha. 8500-9000 I'm thinking.. although that may be pretty hard with a GZE I'm not sure :) P.S. still undecided wether I am putting this into an AE71 or a TE71 GT (import, non complied etc)
  10. So I buy 2 identical sized intercoolers. 1 tube and fin, 1 bar and plate and test them both out then swap depending on temperature? sounds like a plan to me.
  11. yes good point about the supercharger not making as much heat. I was thinking about that but wasn't sure. so tube and fin intercooler you reckon? don't need as much cooling and they flow a lot better than bar and plate.
  12. anyway enough about suspension now. I know you can have an intercooler on 4A-GZE's I'm assuming with the 1G supercharger (they are the same method of induction aren't they? both roots?) that you can intercool them? I was thinking about having a bar and plate intercooler but then just before it goes into the intake manifold have a small dry ice intercooler. I don't know much about superchargers. don't some just push air straight into the intake with no piping? Thanks!
  13. I think you are mistaking the car I want to build for a rally car. yes I know most of those theory's applys but it's not like I need front wheel grip because I am corning hard. the front wheels will basically be used to steer the car while sideways and hold it out there. Loss of traction (clutch pop, smash 2nd/3rd whatever/handbrake) will get the rear end out, not by flicking car (not that that isn't a way to do it). I don't really do the feint drift (scandanavian flick) all that much so straight line grip isn't that much of a concern but of course I'm not going to set it up so that unless the wheels are at full lock then there is absolutely no grip at all. I'm not saying I don't need caster at all. of course that's not true, it's a vital part of any cars handling. but as for your comments about body roll... I think with 8.5/7.5kg springs and suiting shocks, rollcage, huge sway bars, light weight and seam welded there won't be much body roll. if any. there may be a tiny tiny tiny bit of chassis flex but no body roll.. maybe if i kept the standard AE71 suspension.. but no.
  14. camber has nothing to do with body roll mate. it's got to do with drift cars rarely having the wheels pointing straight. I don't know if you know this (i hope you do) but wheels don't stay upright when you turn them full lock. | | < looking at it front on with wheels facing front they go like this / / < full left lock if looking from front. although the first / wouldn't be as angled. so if you have your wheels like this to start with / \ then they will be closer to | | when at full lock. and obviously being a drift car the wheels are going to be at full lock an awful lot. caster has to do with keeping the car stable at high speeds (i.e. keeping it in a straight line) about 5-7 caster is good for drifting. but it doesn't really help with tyre grip while drifting. That pink sprinter has a great suspension setup but remember thats his daily driver so he has to keep it pretty streetable so he doesn't need a spine rebuild every month. I'll most likely go 8.5KG springs front and 7.5KG springs rear. obviously with shocks that are stiff enough so I don't get rice bounce
  15. HAHAHA I AM SUCESSFUL!!! http://www.boostcruising.com/journal/entry/7/yes/3940.html check out the first pic!
  16. I only really like flame jobs on hot rods... looks so lame on other cars.
  17. haha nah. / \ (fulli sik camber) nah the only reason people don't have that much camber is because they are their daily drivers so the tyre life would be like nothing. brett (SR20 sprinter) has -7 and it's awesome.. none of this nonsense positive camber at full lock. I'll see if I can find some pics here's one for starters http://www.drift-pics.com/gallery/cyph/apr05/pic20.jpg it's a bit dodgy but you get the idea.
  18. not enough.. i'm getting adjustable camber tops as well.. -7 degrees \m/ I've got a budget of around $4000 for suspension (not including diff, but that's not really suspension anyway) So yeah I'm so excited.. hurry up september. I WANT MY NEW CAR!!!!
  19. Thanks mate. I'll keep that in mind!
  20. no no it's not illegal. this is his track car. not registered. yeah i think i've seen that KE70. the purply/brown one? i can't remember what colour. yeah it's pretty awesome. I love it.
  21. does it sound like an oldschool horn? or like the one in the mask "Squeeze Me Gently" I like the mask one the best. but old ones are still cool.
  22. ah! toy mods! ah! i even thing its been discuses here. IIRC wasn't it discussed by you? :) confused  Don't laugh, there was a KE70 competing in the D1 recently.. yeah i heard about that.. I just hating calling stuff "D1 spec" calling something drift spec is alright but D1 Spec is a bit too tryhard. I have heard that by adding Toyota Crown tie rods you can increase steering lock? is this true and or what other cars could you steal bits from to get more lock. Bret (SR20 Sprinter) has cut more teeth into his steering rack :( but yeah I haven't seen any pics of that D1 KE70. I want to but sounds awesome. also he's made some rear coilovers for his sprinter by modifying SW20 Front Coilovers.. one smart cookie.
  23. Thanks man. it's all good :( My 1G KE70 got registered today finally.. I'm so excited. but yeah the 1G supercharger will be adaptable with a GZE hey? I don't know much about superchargers. oh and I forgot to mention it will be painted in Top Secret Gold  anyone know if you can wack on a 20v head onto a GZE?
  24. seeings as the amount of sobbing some forum members had about the AE86. new plan: AE71 4A-GZE 1G-GZE SuperCharger unregistered, rollcage, seam weld, coilovers (front AND rear.. thanks Bret.. what a genius) etc etc no budget really. as much as it costs to have a (man i hate these words) D1 Spec AE71 drifter.. fulli D1 SP3K
