  1. There is a major advantage, for starters you get 114.3 stud pattern, which is th same as sigma, celica, nissan silvia. In other words your choise of wheels will become your choise , and the bracking is better I belive. Good luck Ben
  2. I don't believe its that hard, I would go for the 5k myself although the 4k in the ke20 was a good laugh. For 1200 you should be able to getone or even rebuild a nice one. If you need a 4k that just needs a head , or you are looking for a 5k to rebuild ,let me know ,there might be bits in the shed. you'll be able to find my email address in my profile. Good Luck, Ben.
  3. For God sake it's just the f@$king webbing, get yourself a 100mm grinder and take off just enough! or use some Cressida 15inch wheels. That solves 2 problems at the same time. You end up with 15inch wheels, don't forget to use the Cressida nuts. I had the a set of alloys off a celicaon a Ke20 with Ke30 brakes, and after taking a little shit offthe calliper they and never had a problem. Ben Dover
  4. Please, what is a 7K and what is it out of, and what did it go into. Would it have been to hard to move the motor back and get the tail shaft cut so it would clear the stering. Ben Dover
  5. Sorry ,when I answered your disscusion I asumed you had a four speed already? If you have the possibility of getting a damaged Ke30 manual (as I did ) then the process of doing the conversion is a lot easier, because it's a matter of removing from 1 into the other. Then you will have all your bits and pieces ,bolts , cables , peddels etc. If your in Adelaide send me a message and I'll see what I have laying around.Good Luck. Ben Dover
  6. If you are going to stay with with a 4K or 5K engine I have heaps of bit . I'm also from Adelaide. Ben Dover
  7. It's easy , get a Ke55 5 spd and swap it , all the parts are the same. But while I had mine out I did the clutch at the same time . It'll save you time in the long run . It's an afternoon job. Ben Dover
  8. Can some one help with what model sigma the lower arms are from.I have a Ke36 but I have used Corana 15mm wire lowered springs with the top bearing plate off an ( I think) Ae71. Which has an offset centre, but i still haven't achieved enough Negative camber , and still have to find a way to increase stopping power. Someone was talking about a corona strut transplant? and another is experimenting with VR commodore discs . Got Any Ideas? I'm in SA.I would be most appreciative. I love the shot of the 4WD Ke55. 9. Hi Guys Is it possible that there was a modle that came out with hydaulic clutch because 1 the bolts are already in my Ke36! 2 the hole is aready through the peddle box for the back of the master cylinder to fit through! might it be possible that the peddle from an ae86 might fit. Or should we be looking in the similar year celica? I'm tring to do the same conversion. Thanks for the tip on the mazda master cylinder. Good Luck Ben Dover
  10. If you measure from the centre of one stud to the centre of the stud diagonally opposite this is called the Pitch Circle Diametre -PCD. This is how you can check what stud pattern it is. Any tyre place will be able to help you out with this. As far as the difference in speed -Negligible? I changed my Ke20 to Ke30 stud pattern by changing the disc and backing plate/calliper. I then had a greater choice of wheel fitments. I then had my rear axles redrilled to suit. Good Luck Ben Dover (Adelaide)
  11. I had ke30 discs on a Ke20. You just have to make sure that you get the right bearings, use the backing plate off the Ke30 , but I had spacers made up the difference in bolt size. These are the bolts that hold the backing plate to the sturt. You are then able to use 13" wheels off a Ke36 wagon ,I believe that they came out with similar hub caps , you may even be able to use original caps ? You will find that the stud patern is 114.3 mm PCD on the Ke30's and 110 mm PCD on Ke20's asuming that earlier corollas are the same. Thats why everyone uses mazda 13" wheels when they're looking for bigger wheels on early corollas. I just had my rae axles re drilled to the new stud patern! Good Luck Ben Dover
  12. Jason from japanesse porformance dismantlers on cavan rd might be able to help .Hes down to earth and in the driffting scene , so he should know his stuff. Kind Regards Ben Dover
  13. I hope that you are from SA. If not ,no matter. I am very interested in a set of mounts for a KE36. I hope to here more about timing and price. Kind Regards Ben Dover
  14. What parts from what model do you need have extra bit from my KE 36 and some bits left over from an AE71 wagon. Or u could try U Pull-It , they are cheapish but still a fair collection of cars. Ben Dover
  15. You have no idea how much that helps, thank you. I have a KE 36 wagon , so far i have replaced the diff with one out of an AE 71 wagon to change the diff ratio, the 4 speed box was replaced for a 5 speed. KE 55 rear drums etc. I am dying to replace the tired 3K with the 4age and 5 speed box out of any AE 86 but had no Idea how to stop it ! You have just solved that problem for me. Thank you Ben Dover
