4a To Ke Eng Mounts

every one keeps asking about mounts to stuff the 4age into the ke's, if i built mounts to sit a 4a onto ke eng mounts so that they fit everything from a ke10 to a ke70 would they sell/do you want to buy them?

I'm even thinking of selling them engineered but thats going to be a pain depending on what state you live in

o'yea, how much do you want to pay?

I don't think you'd get very much from KE30/35/55 owners, as you can simply use standard Cortina/Escort mounts on the standard crossmember. Of course, if you're using a 4A-GZE and you like to rev hard and occasionally slow down using the gears, try and get some beefed up mounts because otherwise the rubber snaps really easily - it took me about ten minutes!!!

i would buy some if they can mount the motor really low. mine don't give much bonnet clearance and there seems to be a bit of clearance above the steering.

there was a guy on here who was going to put a 4agze into his ke20 but he might have given up because of the mounts for some reason.

Na mate, still here, got the car and engine so will need the mounts, would be very interested...i have tried some guy from kiwiland in relation to this but no joy....

There appears to be not many options here...

i would be intested in some for my ke11 and i know some more people that would be intrested in them if you made a few sets, engineering doesnt really bother me as I'm in tasmania and my car doesnt go out much any way, have you got a price in mind???

cheers james

looks like I'm making them then!! let me work out the cad design, price the cutting folding and welding, and i'll look into stronger rubber mounts to go with them (thanks for the tip ancullen)

soon as ive got some ready to sell i'll post something, i need to make a set straight away for myself so wont be long, once their made i'll know what it costs

i might be wrong, but i expect your core market to be ke70s.

that being said i think you should work around the engine placement being able to use a stock ae71 gearbox cross member and tail shaft. that will also mean an ae86 tailshaft will work (with an ae86 diff)

it is just becoming a super common conversion, so might be smart to work around that.

just a suggestion.
