yes Red you would be correct. full cage would of been nice but the half cage was all we had at the time and it did the job for the time being. Te30 is being built as we speak. will update soon. this one has a 6 point CAMS spec cage in it. might stop a pillars caving in... :P

the car cost me nothing. all the other stuff that i already have cost me. $1000. the stuff includes mild-hot 4k motor, pedders suspention, etc stuff that in currently using in my KE20. the plan was to rally it with 2T-GEU, but for now it will be used for autocross, khanacrosses etc. (hopefully the first hillclimb down here) running the 2T-GU

Alloy Air Box Design For 2 X 40mm Dcoe Carbs

Once the air box is bolted on, the pod filter on the front of the inlet pipe can be easly removed and cleaned, then replaced ready for racing. -
Alloy Air Box Design For 2 X 40mm Dcoe Carbs

i was trying to stay away from the mulipul filters for that reason. (having little or no room to change/ clean the filters) and go towards an alloy sheet box. i was just wondering where i should put the inlet pipe on the box. -
i was also meaning the butterflys in relation to the ports. non bigport has one larger and one smaller. bigport head carby has equal ports. well mine does
-
irokin in the top of the bigport manifold the carby ports are almost equal. will a non bigport carby bolt on and be used or is it best to keep the bigport carby???

Alloy Air Box Design For 2 X 40mm Dcoe Carbs

due to the type of roads and conditions that we endure down here it was told to me by a well respected man (who knows what he's talking about) told me to go away from the uni filter soks and use either the K&N style of filter the oval one that is about 4" off the face of the webers to be able to get the trumpets in. then i saw on an other car the air box and i thought that i could make that and use it. then i thought that the inlet could be a problem. so i asked this question. -
all i can say is that if you put a 3k head on the 4k block it will turn over once then either put a hole in the top of your piston or bend the hell out of the valves. this is from experience. we then threw the internalls away.

Alloy Air Box Design For 2 X 40mm Dcoe Carbs

sorry yes it will be on a K series motor (that i havent decided which one to use 4K or 5K) with extractors. the 4K has already hade work done on it. cam, blueprint, etc the 5K is standard no mods what so ever. i have a 3K big port head for it if i choose to use it ah yes the model.... its a Ke 3x 2 door the one with the B pillar -
here lyes the question? i have been told that i need to run the socks plus the trumpets (being a tuned length) on the webers, then i was told to piss them off and put the K & N filters (the ones that arnt cheap) on with the trumpets inside. my thought is to make an alloy air box up to bolt on the webers. thats the easy bit, my next thought is where is the inlet going to be? my first thought was put it straight out the front of the box and near a fresh air opening next to the radiator , but then the distance that the air has to travel is different to each carby. second thought is to put the inlet in the middle on the underside of the box and turn it 90 deg then pipe it to the fresh air opening next to the radiator. thats all the thoughts that i think that are practical for its application so far. the reason that I'm going with the box is due to the amount of WET events that we have down here I'm trying to keep the diagnostic problem simple and so there is only one pod filter that i have to change not two K & N filters.

5k with flat top piston interchangable with 4k head. 5k with dished pistons interchangable with 3k head??? due to all my 3k's have dished pistons.

yes i agree the drift sceen is getting bigger every day and some of the drifters have there head jamed so far up there arse that ... well u can guess the rest, but the drift is the new thing, it will either die in the butt or will thrive. my point is that all the people with ther head up somewhere make EVERYone else look bad. one more good thing, u done need a monaro to win the drift, u can use a stock corolla and take out the day, and piss off A LOT of ricers in there rice burners.
