  1. At the Sutton Rd driver training complex.
  2. Hello and welcome to Rolla Club :D Hope we all get to meet you soon, we have meetings on the last Tuesday of the month at Pharley's Spares & Repairs (PSR) at 76 Sheppard St Hume at 7pm. Good to see a new rolla in the club as well.
  3. It looks like the next Motorkhana will be on the 24th June but yet to be confirmed. How many ACT Rolla Club members want to have a go? All you need is a level 2NS CAMS lic. ($48 for a year), membership to an invited club normally around $55 for a year(day membership can be got for around $10) and a car. Cost to enter is normally $25 for the day. You also need to be at least 12 years of age (min. age for CAMS 2NS Lic.). I will post up confirmed date and regs as soon as I know them.
  4. Gas you need is argoshield light (not sure on spelling) Boc can supply this. I use .09 for the trailers but then I am welding for structual strength, Thomo uses the thinner wire I think .06 on the cars in the workshop. You can weld 2 ways, one is to preheat as you go and if you do this on light/ thin steel you will blow holes in it. Stitch welding is the way to go on cars as it allows for movement as the car body moves and do not put cold water on hot welds let it cool on its own. If using Gal grind the gal back to the raw steel in the areas to be welded this way you get a good strong weld with no splatter and no burning of all the nasty stuff used in the gal. Always tac weld into place first then go from there. Penetration is the key, a big blob of weld may look strong and a nice little neat weld may look great but without the right penetration into the two sections of steel the weld is useless. If you are not to sure on anything call your local BOC guy and ask or send me a pm and I will give you a number to contact me on or just call me on the number in my sig at Specialised Trailers....lol
  5. That's right it is that time of the month again. Same place as normal (Pharley's Spares & Repairs 76 Sheppard St Hume) at 7pm this Tuesday the 27th. This time we have a AE71 CSX that will be on the workshop floor for a free parts grab. What ever is left on Wednesday morning will go to Sims. Some of you have already got 1st rights to some items but if you are not there to remove the said item you may lose it (unless you have done a deal before hand). This is a members only free grab for parts. Non-members are welcome to come to the meeting and if you need parts you can organise a price on the night with Thomo.

  13. The 2007 Light Car Club of Canberra Treasure Hunt is a social, fun and laid back event for club members, friends and family, and even the kids. The way we have designed the treasure hunt rally is to think outside the box, use common sense and a lot of the time, read the clue carefully taking in the grammar and wording. Using the location clues and map that you will be given on the day and local knowledge, you make your way around Canberra ending up at different destinations and answering questions related to that location or getting a stamp much like a passage control. It might be a park, reserve, building, playground, memorial, oval, BBQ area, river, etc. You will get a point for each location you get to and point for answering the question for the location. There are bonus questions and other things that will help u get more points too. Basically how the clues work is the 1st and sometimes 2nd sentence is the location clue and the last sentence is the question for the location but this one sometimes helps you determine where it is as well. Eg. Where we remember on the Parade. The men and women who fought to stop the raid. Find the name of the ride whom Simpson went to work with pride. Location would be War Memorial – Anzac Parade, and the answer is Simpson's Donkey - Abdul, Murphy or Duffy. Numbers of people in each car only depend on the legal limit for that vehicle. You can even just do it yourself but its easier and more fun if there's more. Also try to include a long time local or someone with good local area knowledge and a current Suburb/Street Directory. The event will start in the gravel carpark at the Jerrabomberra Wetlands next to Fyshwick on Dairy Rd with the first car leaving at 10am on the 24th March. From there you will travel around Canberra and ending at a point for a BBQ. Along the way, we'll have little games for the kids, drinks for everyone and fun for all involved. The $10 entry covers everyone in the car and will get you drinks, BBQ and special prizes. If you want more info send me your email address via PM and I will send entry form etc...
  14. Bugger, I have white panels etc.... but they are AE71. Come on guys he needs help.

  21. You did not did you :jamie: When will you learn
  22. As I said, not really fussed about keeping it orig. rom what I have seen from looking at a few the AE102R Corolla stuff may fit. Had a look at a mates AE102R Corolla Seca and it looks like it is just the outer panels that were different around the park lights as all the main body looks the same up to the A pillers. Even looking at pics of your Charlene all the front body is the same from radiator support back to the A pillers.
  23. I now have a 1994 AE102R Corolla Sprinter with front end damage. What I want to know is if any other model front guards, bumper, lights an grille will fit this model? not that fussed about keeping it orig. just want to get it back on the road without costing large sums of money. It already has a new/used LH front guard fitted that has AE100S writtin on it but I can not seem to find info on the AE100S. Can anyone help me with this please? ;)
  24. Ok all, The new year has started and it is time to get things rolling again. Our club meetings are held on the LAST Tuesday of the month at Pharley's Spares & Repairs (PSR) / Specialised Trailers at 76 Sheppard Street Hume at 7pm sharp. This is a great meeting spot and you can even ask Thomo about how to do stuff to your car. The main plan for 2007 is to add new members and to have more events for members. We will also be looking at a Rolla Club stand/display at Marques In the Park 2007 as more of us will have cars ready to show. Thanks guys for a great 2006 and lets have an even better 2007. See you all at the meets or Geoff will do do things to you
  25. Thanks to Thomo I now have a new Corolla in my yard. A very nice red 1994 AE102R Corolla Sprinter. It has some minor front end damage that I will be fixing as time and money come to hand. Once I get off my ass and take some pics I will post them up.
