Good buy mate. I've driven that car. It's pretty nice. Could use a little more go-fast, but otherwise real nice bit of metal.
  5. Haha. That does look pretty nice! Maybe one day when I get bored of it, if that's ever possible.
  6. Jaysus! If that is as good as it looks then you are a lucky lucky boy. Yep, we want to know more please.
  7. A '64 wouldn't be in that price range. '59's will be that and more. I paid an undisclosed sum  Yeh might clean up the bay at some stage. Would prefer to spend that time cruising rather than cleaning though. The exterior looks better in photo's than it really is. It's the interior that is mind blowing. It shall not be lowered. Maybe someday a full custom Mexican re-duco and hydraulic suspension though. Hehe. Haha. No comment.
  8. The Lac enjoyed it's first all USA car cruise on Saturday night. Somewhere between 300 and 400 cars in attendance I believe. Here's a few pics:
  9. Yep I agree. My plans for it are..... precisely nothing. Maintain and enjoy. Lowering was a thought, but as it is it scrapes over speed humps due to the long wheel base, so it's not going down unless it cops some air-ride. Here's the requested pics. Keep in mind I'm a 6'4" tall fella, so this is a pretty damn large boot.
  10. Haha..... yeh..... exactly.... damn big fingers and little keyboards. Sad to see this car had to be sold Dave, but yeh the 1600S is a good choice.
  11. More pics shall come after the weekend. Driving LHD takes a bit of adjustment. Plus it's a lot bigger than what I've been used to in recent years so the first few drives were interesting. Trying to keep it in my lane going down Anzac Hwy the first time I drove it was pretty funny. I was all over the road and cars behind were too scared to try to overtake me. I'm used to it now so it's all good. Still have to concentrate if jumping from driving my daily straight into the Lac though. It's funny cruising with my girl because people assume she is driving because she's on the normal drivers side.
  12. Didn't take any shots in the engine bay. Just lifting the bonnet is hard work. That's a whole lot of metal. Will get some this coming weekend and post up. It's almost 19 foot long. Reverse parallel parking is going to take some practice. Yeh I would love to get some pics of it next to a KE10 so I will bring it out to a cruise some time. Thanks for the feedback lads. I'm very happy with it and I think it will more than cover the sadness I felt when I watched my KE10 and my Mk1 Corty drive off with their new owners.
  13. Haha...... pretty big change from the KE10. Wish I could have both, but life just ain't that easy  Finally did a thread on the Caddy here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/55128-my-six-fo-lac-1964-cadillac-coupe-de-ville/
  14. As some of you know I did a clearance of my classic car collection earlier in the year. Sold my '67 Mk1 Cortina I have had forever, sold my '67 Mitsubishi Colt and my little white KE10 Rolla. Also sold my drum kit, a few old skool BMX's, my lowrider show bike and a bunch of other bits and pieces in order to realise a dream I've had for a long long time. That dream was to own a Cadillac Coupe De Ville somewhere between 1959 and 1964 inclusive. When I first heard about this car and saw pictures over 12 months ago it was still in California. One owner, owned by a 92 year old man. His next door neighbour put it on the internet to help him sell it. It's totally original and just ticked over a genuine 50,000 miles. The condition of the car is sensational, although not perfect. Has some knicks and scrapes which is perfect in my opinion because each one of them would have a story. The chrome is in very very good condition and the interior is hard to fault. Some discoloration on the interior door pulls is pretty minor stuff. It's got the 429 (7 litre) motor which they rolled out in '64, which is pretty handy. Even though the car is 2200kg in weight it gets going pretty quickly and loves highway cruising. For a car from 1964 it's also very well appointed. Electric windows and aerial didn't amaze me..... what amazed me was the remote control mirror, 4 way electric seat and also the climate control. Not just aircon and heating, but climate control. Set the temp you want and let it do the rest. Have had the car 3 or 4 weeks now but hadn't got around to taking decent photo's until yesterday. Here it is:
  15. Ohmygod. Put stockies and walls on the Panno and keep those rims on the 40 and hit it on the head with a hammer. So sool!
  16. Sold 3 of my treasured cars earlier this year including my KE10 so I could buy this '64 Lac.
  17. Wasn't the spare tyre placed there for weight distribution issues? Pretty sure I read that somewhere. Mate of mine used to have a Corvair, but not the turbo version. The spare wheel thing was about balancing weight I'm pretty sure.
  18. Hehe..... I have special powers :y:
  19. There was over 1800 other vehicles at the event too, buty check out the dish on this De Tomaso Pantera.
  20. Sandman Vans rule hard! There was a couple at last weekends Bay to Birdwood event here in Adelaide.
  21. Amen brother! Jeez you're a magnet right now for awesome classic Yota's aren't you. I'm jealous as. Next you'll be telling us you found an RT55 GT5 Coupe. My vote..... keep the 1600S and go the Hayashi's. Then, send that RT40 over to me as a show of good will. The Stout was repainted at some point in the past by previous owner. It was a farm ute only and had been parked up for 10 years when I bought it. The paint ain't so good but it came up okay with a polish and photo's are very forgiving. The air con is good fun. Have rolled it on a few of my cars over the years. Most people, even car people, have no idea what it is.
  22. Yeh I found the Panno thread after I'd seen the RT40 and the KE20 thread. Pushed my computer off the desk in a jealous rage. Hehe. Sad you have to sell the RT40 and 20, but that's cars. We always want more and sometimes you have to make sacrifices.
  23. Hehe..... the Stout wasn't there. I have a new car. It features in the photo's  There's a reason that XM is the top photo in my Aussie section. It was truly beautiful. I used to own an XP so I'm always attracted to anything from an XK through to an XP.... that M coupe is awesome!
