  5. Hey everyone, thought id share my other ride with you all!! I bought this bike from KETURBO25 and this is what it looked like when i got it. and then after alot of work including a bare metal respray by me, this is what it looks like now! i have a matching whitewall for the rear coming in the mail!!   6. All the rust is still there, but the electrical problems are all sorted out.
  7. in all honesty i couldnt tell you how many ks the engine has but the odometer on the car has 376000 kms, but the front struts are celica ones with bigger brakes, and the bushes are new etc. i think the person before me did it up as a good little car but then ended up neglecting it a bit which is why it needs some attention now to get it back to looking schmick again. the 5k engine i have i was told had 90000 odd kms on it by the guy at toyoland i bought it from.

Yes sir that is the one! just got some new point and plugs today. the 4k has an electronic dizzy, extractors, 2" exhaust, 32/36 webber, and is running pretty sweet as i just got back from my mates house and we gave it a service and tune!! oh yeah, forgot to add i have a pretty serious alarm system for it just needs to be installed.
  9. would you be interested in swapping for a ke55 coupe, 4k 4spd, plus a ke 70 k50 5spd and a 5k engine, plus a spare bonnet and some other spare parts?
  10. thanks for the info! i have seen a thread on here before of someone doing this mod and i think i remember a picture of them having used an old number plate to plug up the original hole and cutting a hole to accept the ke70 k50 gearbox but ive just spent an hour trying to find it and have had no luck so if anyone know where it is please point me in the right direction!! thanks
  11. ke70 5 speed so i got a ke55 automatic centre console to try and maintain the stock internals look!!
  12. awesome, thanks for the info!! But just to clarify with the gearbox i will have to move the hole for the shifter back hey? Also I'm guessing its not as straight forward as swapping an auto trans?
  13. Hey everyone, its been a while but I'm back again, i just would like to know if anyone can recommend a good place to get my 5k rebuilt as it is time to get into making this little rocket go again! also when putting a k50 5 speed into my car do i need to modify the tailshaft? thanks
  14. ok so i want to add the relay to the circuit but no-one told me what type of relay I'm going to need? and what other bits do i need? or is there a kit you can buy to do this?

OK so i just put the voltmeter to the battery and it read a little bit over 13 volts, then i started the car and it went up to 14.somthing volts. then i had the engine running and put the headlights, wipers and hazards on and it went down to about 13 volts again but the engine sounded like it was gonna konk out!! so I'm thinking its not the alternator so i will give the relay thing a go. i just need some decent "for dummys" instructions!

  19. Hi everyone let me start by telling you what has been going on with my car. I havent had any problems with it up until about a week ago. i was driving somewhere, just a short drive about 5 minutes, and when i tried to turn the car on again to come home it owuld not turn over. the charge light and the other dash lights that usually come on when you turn the key didnt. completely dead. i waited about 10 minutes and tried again and lo and behold it turned over and started no problems. the same thing has happened a few times this week and so i decided to swap the battery for one i know is good. but then tonight i was driving somewhere and had the headlights on, stereo going, wipers on, and then i was waiting to turn so i had my indicator on and a few seconds later the car just died. i went to start it and nothing. no lights or anything. waited 5 minutes and tried again and it started. so I'm pretty puzzled but i do have a theory. i think the alternator is only doing one of his jobs. i know its supposed to charge the battery while i drive but i think its supposed to run everything else as well? correct me if I'm wrong. so i think its only charging the battery and not doing anything else so the battery charge is not keeping up with what the car needs? i don't know alot about auto electrical so if anyone can offer me some advice i would really appreciate it. thanks in advance Charl

Well, its been a while but i havent done anything so there hasnt been anything to update! but i did notice after giving my car a bit of shit around some corners my fuel gauge is working again. but i havent had time to get in touch with toyota for some spark plug tubes but i hope to do this soon.
