  1. sorry, i must have misread the first thread!
  2. will do! the colour is ford au c2 regency red if you were curious!
  3. the cat sort of tried to run across the road and thought it could make it between my front and rear wheels. cat was too slow!
  4. Just a small update, after the wedding last sunday we have been so busy with thank yous and general goings on that the rolla has not seen much attention. but ive been itching to get the front bumper on since i got it home from Chris's house, (thanks again mate!), so yesterday i went and got the bolts to do the job and while Sarah, (my beautifull wife who will get mentioned often as she loves working on the the rolla too!), was giving it a polish and cleaning the windows, i took the front end apart and fitted the bumper. while i was at it i also fitted a new radiator as mine was leaking when it got to temp. small crack on the bottom pipe join. after i had the front bumper on i decided to fit the silver wiper arms that i had found a while ago and voila, full facelift for the front of the rolla!! the bumper is not sitting straight but its nearly there so when i get some time on wednesday or thursday, (my days off of work every week), ill take it off and have a play with the brackets to see if i can get it on there properly. also on the way home from my parents house last night a cat tried to run under my car and came off second best. i can still hear the sickening thud of its skull hitting the underside of my car. but don't worry, the rolla came out of it unscathed except for a few bits of white fur stuck to it underneath!.... plenty more work for me to do yet but well get there! anyway, here are some pics with the bumper and wiper arms.
  5. how is the police element on these cruises? i would like to come but am a bit paranoid...
  6. as things stand i really like the square front. so its gonna stay that way ut it doesnt hurt to have some spares hanging around the shed!!
  7. I'm pretty sure i will! just wanna have the option, especially if i want to make it a te37 replica!!
  8. I just picked up the full wrap around front bumper today from Chris and am heaps happy with it! so i think the bumpers i have will be fine! as for the front end i havent quite made my mind up about square or round but i am gonna grab the round setup just so i have the option! first priority is getting the rust sorted though!
  9. thanks! it does have alot of rust, but i think it looks worse than what it is. but i guess ill find out in 2 weeks time when i start to cut it out! but that will be well documented here for all to see.
  10. Best day of my life! We all had an awesome time and the rolla did its job well! ended up in some photos too. on a different note, anyone know if this guys products are any good? www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au
  11. Ok so progress is slow but that is due to me getting married today!! O_O anyway here are some pics of our getaway car! My soon to be wife, (in approximately 3.5 hours), love corollas too so it was here idea to have the coupe as our wedding car! so well be cruising around tununda this afternoon and some of tomorrow..... wish me luck, here i go!
  12. So here are pics of what i think i would like to do. But i have not quite made my mind up completely yet...
  13. I think it has had some work done mechanically as well, it has a webber and the sway bars don't look factory, the front has aftermarket springs and i think the rear leafs have been played with. apart from that i have no idea whats been done. the rust is weird because there is no rust in the boot or under the bonnet so i think it started to rust because of a dodgy prep job by whoever painted it... I think i would like to eventuall turn this into a te37 replica so if anyone gets any parts i might need feel free to drop me a line! ok so ill put some pics of the redone interior up tomorrow as ive run out of daylight! plenty more work to put into it but i like doing it so its no problem!
  14. and here it is after the work ive put into it so far!
  15. and here are some pics of my rust.... any helpful info would be appreciated, like where to buy fibre glass cheap or something!
  16. Hi everyone! So i have finally got myself another corolla and this one is in just as much need of work as what my ke20 was! most of the work on this one is going to be rust repair... i spent the last 2 days cleaning up all the stuff i didnt like about it and am quite happy with the results so far. changed the seats back to stock ones that will eventually be re-upholstered. I also replaced the after market steering wheel with a stock one. removed about 20 metres of unnecessary wiring out of the car, remnants of an alarm system and a stereo system and some other stuff! had to clean up the extra gauges as well and the steering column surround had a bunch of holes drilled into it for them so i replaced that with a nice clean one as well. treated all the rust with rust convertor and fish oil for the moment and then cleaned the car and polished the chrome. fixed the passenger door latch and got a bunch of things that i was missing as well. I love going to u-pull-it!!! so what i need to do in the immediate future is track down a front bumper bar and make a start at getting the rust out. i am probably going to cut the rust out and just replace with fibreglass as i know how to work with that. maybe one day when i get to take the car off the road ill be able to replace all the fibreglass with metal!! :P anyway here are some pics of when i got it 3 days ago! note the crows nest of wire under the dash! big ugly mx5 seats!
  17. when i was building my old ke20 i needed replacement front quarters too and i got brand new ones from AP Panel house in sydney. they have an office somewhere here in adelaide and i paid 175 bucks for 2 front quarter panels freighted from sydney to their depot here. might be worth looking into...
  18. Name: Charl Car: KE55 coupe Motor & Driveline: 4k 4spd Suspension & Brakes: stock i think Wheels & Tyres: not sure of the name of the wheels Interior: needs work Body: more holes than a block of swiss cheese! Other: So I'm back again! i miss the ke20 but i think this one will keep me happy! the pics are quite misleading as to the condition of the car but mechanically it seems to be fine. the rust is pretty bad but its not in any structural places that i could find. so short term fix will be to rust convert all of it and then little by little cut it out and replace with fibreglass for now and then in 12 months time redo all of it in metal.... DAMN ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!!!
  19. new mirrors look sweet, alot more "stealthy"!! nice drop in the suspension too, did you do it properly or just cut the front springs? flip the rear or lowering blocks?
  20. sounds like everyone has an opinion! i say do what you feel is right!! nice little addition to the grill there. i found my socket set by the way! but i think secretly i did want to touch her again.....
  21. hey dude i was just wondering if you found my socket set in the car by any chance? ive been looking everywhere for it and i can't find it! so i figured i must have left it in the car! feel pretty dumb if i did. so if its there please let me know so i can come pick it up. thanks heaps Charl
  22. well I'm glad its not locked away out of site somewhere!!
  23. :jamie: ;) !!!waaaahhh, i miss her already!!! :'( :'( but on the plus side, at least i can keep an eye on you here to make sure youre treating her with the respect she deserves!!! sounds like youve got a few good ideas and I'm sure everyone on here will be interested to see where you take it. personally i think continueing witht the hotrod theme would be the go, all those things mentioned before that i wanted to do to her..... but alas, she is yours now to do with as you please so I'm sure whichever path you decide to follow will be the right one for you. just a quick question though, you gonna keep the roof lining the way it is?! cheers and good luck charl :y:
  24. well there ya go.... i sold my ke20 today, not sure if it was the best idea. but i needed the cash to fix my maximas transmission. :sob: so i guess this is farewell, maybe ill get another rolla oneday but i guess well see how things go. thanks to all of you who helped me with everything i went through to get the car to what it is today and i hope that JOSHYOUWAH will get as much enjoyment out of the car as i have! looking forwar to seeing what he turns it into! cheers charl
