-
re assemble the trims and you should end up with a nice schmik looking brand new trim!! sorry about the photo quality! camera phone. ill put pics of the front ones up as soon as i can.
-
first trace your original trims onto the mdf. cut out new mdf trims trial fit put the clips on. drill holes for the lugs on the "pocket" bits upholstering the trims, used spray adhesive to stick the fabric to the trims. my partner cutting the fabric ugly brown pockets getting washed vinyl spray to make them black ooh, my venetian!

and heres the fabric ill be using for the interior. this ill be using for the roof lining, seeing as people rarely actually look at the roof lining i thought id use something very different just to see their reactions if and when they do notice!! and for the door trims i will be using this polar fleece like grey stuff with sponge underneath. i will post more pics of the process as i take them over the course of the weekend. so if you interested to find out whether i succeed in my trimming endeavours keep coming back. and needless to say, my other half will probably be doing all of the sewing like stuff. thanks for all your support Charl

and heres the mdf i will be using for the trim base. these were the "super special awesome" door trims i got with the car for the front doors..... needless to say, start from scratch once again!! mdf for the base trim again

I'm excited, today i start trimming the interior! probably take me most of the weekend but seeing as i work for holdens, and they gave everyone monday off, i have ample time!! The original trims were all missing so i found these at u-pull it in lonsdale a while ago. out of a red ke25 i think. so needless to say they don't fit exactly and thats why i had to modify them, but then i decided to use them as a template and make all new trims from scratch!! after i destroyed them by pulling them apart, (don't get angry, theyre only trims!)

WOW! thanks for the oh-so accurate information i really appreciate it! i think the top ones are what I'm after as theyre alot thicker!! I'm just wondering... do you just stick them to your original tyres or do you have to take them to that guy to do it? i think ill give him a ring tomorrow. thanks again Chobis. Charl

i was just curious to see if it did have a different engine and gearbox and I'm pleased to announce:: ITS A 5K MOTOR AND THE GEARBOX IS A 5 SPEED OUT OF A KE55. AND IT HAS EXTRACTORS NICE! but on the downside there is no ehaust system, you should hear it running with just the extractors though,.... if only..... so, would this be a legal setup? thats the exhaust system on Daim's T70: (just by the way, i knew it had extractors and a 5 speed already just didnt know it was not original, just thought youd like to know too! :hmm: )

its the headlights and the parker/ indicators under the bumper that don't work. the battery is brand new, the car runs and drives, all the dash lights work, the rear lights work, except for the reverse lights but i think its because the motor and gearbox arent original and they might not have connected the reverse sensor. (breaks, indicators)and the indicators on the front quarters work, i checked the fuses and theyre all ok. there are some wires that don't go anywhere and i think they are meant to which is why I'm thinking i need a wiring diagram..... PLEASE HELP!!! :hmm:
-
well its as i suspected., the wiring in the front of the car does not work. so if anyone can point me in the direction of a ke20 wiring diagram i would be very appreciated.

Hey Tally, yeah i remember you. thanks for the front apron and the positive comments!! i used killrust matte black paint! thanks alot for your support corolln. I'm not sure what the pressure hose will do to this paintjob, but I'm buying some normal matte black paint and covering it with a satin clearcoat. but this wont be getting done anytime soon. ive got to get the funds together first!! lol! my partner loves doing craft stuff so this was a way for me to get her involved!! she is in the process of making me a new roof lining as well and shes going to recover my doortrims and some other bits and pieces! she is really great! the funny thing is now its gone from, "Your crappy car in the driveway" to "our little car"..... go figure! Felix, thanks for the advice. ill make sure that when it comes to painting the car properly i will remember that! and yeah, its definitely getting some pinstriping done on the bonet and boot lid! and to think, i almost gave up on it and now I'm working harder than ever to finish it!! thanks for all the feedback, charl

the bottom cap is how they were when i got them, the top one is after my partner spent most of the afternoon painting the red into them to look good again!! all four finished she also painted the grill badge red bits today and the boot badge as well but i don't have pics yet. so at the moment the outside is just about done and next weekend we can start on the interior. ive already picked the material for the roof lining and door trims so i don't think itll take all that long to complete now. i am pretty sure that I'm going to be needing help with wiring soon as well because i don't think the wiring in the car is up to scratch... but well see when we get there I'm sure!
