  1. iagree with this. not saying its a bad idea cos its not just make it fora fun time. do you have a date or month of the year you would like to hold this cruise?
  2. ha all. my frinend and i are working on a a 3k-c and want to know how much we should take off of the head to get it up to 9.5:1 or even 10:1 compression. a stock 3k-c is only 8.5:1. any ideas anyone?. :hmm:
  3. well if you had all the tools to do it and a little know how on a k motor i see why not. i did my k motor on a engine crain but that wasnt for an oil leak, it was for the whole seal set and rings and that was my first motor and it still went hard. I'm from adelaid and at U-PULL IT you can get any carb whole 4cldr motor for $200 :y: if you don't want to wast your time but 5k parts are more costly than a 3or4 k keep in mind. up too you now. :hmm:
  4. i woube keen for that next year, I'm in SA and i have a few problems of my own like a ke55 back to bear steel, needs me to hurry up and find a good color to lay on it. :hmm:.
  5. i was just having a little look at the FAQ and the 3k-c only has 8.5:1 compresion. the 3k-b/h has 10.0:1. can a 3k-c thats been skimed run well at 10.0:1 and how mutch do you take of in mm units not intches?.
  6. ha ha ha i was waiting for someone to say ke70 aircon pully. i wasnt sour myself about that1
  7. the fuel was 100.O. power between 3700+-8400RPM. her first motor lasted 7 years runing at 7900-8400RPM. only lost 20% of power overthat time now the brother uses it. its now 9 years old and not a nok in it.
  8. these facts are only based on what the rac drivers father and 4 other drivers have told me. this is verry close to 100bhp, if it even was at the wheels, but still that will be a lot. they are striped compleetly, head honed and faced to reach i think was 11.5:1. all stock head parts i.e. rockers and arm but high grade standard size valve as are used. the block is honed, stock flat top pistons with a littli off the bottom shaved off, piston rods not toutched and i don't know about the crank. flywweel is below safe for road use, its too weak but they don't leave 2nd gear. 1st than snap 2nd, some don't push the clutch in all the way. now the cam used in the motor makes it sound like a V8 chainsaw, verry lumpy but has a buzz. stock outlet system to keep it fear but my friends dad does exhausts systems and gas for a living so more time spent on pipline than race prep. the exhaust manifold is stock but the pipe is whatever you likeand stops under the pasanger seat/half the car. there is no fan on the motor its all electric and the carby is stock with the outside ofthe air filter housing cut away so the filter is exposed. i think a K&N is used. 4spd ke30 box and ke36 diff.
  9. in not twisting what i said but i ment bhp not kw and a cam that lumpy can do it.
  10. this is just a little question iv been wanted answered for some time. what is the BHP differance in a 3K to a 4K? what minor things could you do to make it reach a stock 45Kw/60BHP 4K output? :hmm:.
  11. if your saying it can't get more than 90bhp+ out of a 4k N/A your about to be corected. my friend has a race ke30 3k an all that has is balanced pistons, not crank or piston rods and a lumpy cam with half an outlet system, no extractors and stock carby. so nothing speciall just a lumpy cam and balanced pistons and the head was done a little but all up under $800 for 100kw+ atw on there dyno. the power to wait says it all for me. and yes the motos is reliable just don't hold 7900RPM for 8 laps. to reach 90BHP is realy not that hard to do if you know how to N/A a motor properly but it will set you back a little more but boy does it go hard. if done well the power can be felt right through the rev range till just befor it valve bounces than :hmm:. every little bit helps. 4K EFI systen. 32/36 carb. extractors. shaved head and block deck. 1.5-2''system. balance all high RPM parts grind cam. don't have to port polish but it is good. lighten flywheel. ect. whats listed are the main power makers. i would think that would keep up with a charged 4k.
  12. the estimate that you say sounds ok :hmm: but why do all these lines have to be re-positioned. it all sounds a little to complex for the power output. on the other hand if the engine was N/A, all balanced with a compresion ratio of 10.5:1 this should begine to keep up with a charged 4k. it would rev a lot higher 8000+,+ the cost of the work. i don't think there is a simple way round this. turbo is bolt on but can cost. i hear all the time people using a standard 3k head. 3k use flat top pistons with dished heads, 4k do both flat top and dished pistons. so what happens if you use a 4k flat top piston set up with a 3k standard head, does it work or should it just be shaved 40-60thou. corect me if I'm wrong i don't have all my ke knowledge with.
  13. I'm looking to putting a charger on to a 4k. i don't have a new 4k to do this too yet but when i do get one i plane on balancing the engine, shaving the head and finding a pear of extractors. just the average re-make. i have the webber for it. so whats the extra power average? :hmm:
  14. Just when you though you'v seen it all. i think the 30 2-dooor looks way beta than a 35/55-coupe thers just something about that blue 2-door that just says I'm beta than the rest, nice find.
  15. I'm confused i have a ke55 and have seen plenty of 30's but i have never seen a ke30 2-door sedan befor is thisan import or someone cutting corners in the factory in the 70's?
  16. Ok no problem i have 1 mad idea but i need to draw it or find a blank pick of the top and side vew of a ke30 or ke55 to show the lines and colour.
  17. Hay boys and girs I'm new to this club and have a difficult question to ask of you. what colour and style should i go with on me beautifull ke55. keep in mind that its a 4-door and has ke30 door skins, the ones that leave the top of the door exposed to match the colour of the body. don't lough but when i first got it i did it in tool box bluefor $43.50. i thought it was a bargen at the time but didnt think it would be so hard to strip in the end but its all good now the car was taken back to bear steel, dents were filled, the war on rust was victorious and all panels were made flush. only took me and my mate Gilly, Oh about 5 months . So what are your opinions on what a 55 should look like. anything is an idea, race, rally, street or old school style. post your opinion. :jamie: pleas. inspiration needed.
