well to be honest i haven't even installed it yet. i check that its not rusted, but i am hoping itll get me outa trouble. ive cut out nearly all the steel bits for the car this weekend. and attempted to weld the ones that are not visible, but i think i need to use a different wire on the mig welder. just seems to blow through on the lowest setting using the gasless wire.

Here is the engine bay before i started pulling it down. On another note, i have finally started working on the old girl again, ive cut all rust holes out and have started making the plates to go into its place. its been well over a year since last post and its time to get the ball rolling. Will start posting pictures of the progress as i do more work! I have started picking up new parts such as another newer turbo, a new cable K-T Gearbox, Rims, new camshaft. all ready to be installed once the body of the car is done. -Gerard

Hello everyone, i just recently purchased a K-T50 Gearbox setup off Madrolla68. I have paid into his bank account and gave him an address. But i have not received anything yet. I gave him the address for the gearbox to be delivered on the 15th of march. I have tried sending emails to get a tracking number or confirmation that he has sent it but i haven't had any reply. I'm a little concerned on what is going on. If anyone knows Madrolla68 personally and or can get in contact with him that would be much appreciated i would just like to know where this gearbox is. Also one of my mates who is a corolla nutter like myself has already offered me money.. but i don't really wanna sell it.. but at the rite price i guess its hard to say no? Anyway the money can go towards my turbo corolla! what price do you guys think would be a fair price. Noting that this car has a 5k 5 speed, lowered, full body respray, inside and out ect.. just curious weather or not itll be worth it? Cheers Gerard

Little update.. My new car carpet came this week! looks very nice and not bad for $130 Also got some new gauges for the car. the ones in there are a bit old and broken.. Umm.... Got some new gearbox oil, motor oil, new coolant and oil filter. and new alternator. oh and a nice new shiny exhaust tip! :dance: Still waiting on the new speedo cable to come then i can put the dash back together. A few more parts to come will be new inner door handles, some chrome trims for the rims, some seat covers and a veteran blind.

Spotted Ke20 i think.. :dance: Orange in colour with some chrome rims looked very sexy! On Magill rd about 8:45...

Oh the car itself isn't staying black. that's just in the undercoat. The car will be painted in high opacity white. And about the white walls, i would like to maybe get some bigger 'stockie' rims with whitewalls on them. but we will see how i go!

Yeah the car is coming along quiet nicely! I am hoping to get some paint on the guards and doors throughout the week. Looks like we got some good weather. Fingers crossed!

Well having some time off and being bored the engine was pulled out detailed and put back in! the picks will show you what i have done! Also if you notice the water pump outlet facing the wrong way.. that's because it is! haha i will have to change that around! Here are some piccies! :no2:

Quick Update... Ive Gotten the week off work and its time to get stuck into the car. we have some nice days coming up here in Adelaide so i hope i can get some paint on the body! I have taken the engine out to give it a clean and to spray the engine bay black. I will be painting the giving the engine a good clean and a bit of paint. Well it has been a little while since i have posted! but the corolla is coming along quite nicely! We just need a few days of some half decent weather! and then i can start really getting into it! Here are some pics of whats up to date! :y:

Haha yeah i'm turning the car into a grampa spec. the bonnet pins will go on my other corolla..

Well a little more work has been done! almost ready for painting one we get a few nice days of weather! :D The holes have been filled in the bonnet! and the rear guard has had the rust cut out and new steel put back in! Oh and i painted the rims.. will look better with the chrome trim and white wall tires. Here are some piccies!

Well the weather has been crap so not much more work has been done! And being lazy too... :y: Well the rust in the guard has been cut and removed and replaced with some steel. The boot lid all the rust removed and ready for steel to be welded back in. Then the bonnet has been paint striped and holes needing to be welded back up! The plan is to get the car painted next week and weekend as thats probably the only good weather we will get...
