  1. Well, I managed to remove just the barrel. Theres a little hole on top of the surround and when you insert a small screwdriver in it and pull on the key with it on acc the barrel comes out!! Easy!
  2. So theres no removing the barrel from the mounting bracket that surrounds it, like the earlier KE series?? It must be removed as one piece, must it ??
  3. Gday just having a problem with a friends car. Went to swap ignitions and couldnt get it out! Has anyone had the same problem?? You start the car and the starter motor keeps running, so turn off the key but the starter keeps going. Had to pull off the battery lead to stop it. Me thinking either a problem in the ignition system or possibly the starter relay crook, don't think its a starter motor problem, but it will be soon!! Cheers, any ideas??
  4. I'll be looking out for it. I notice ALL the rollas I pass in the street. Better photo will help. Was it locked at your place???
  5. Yeah we got that car in a feature up here in sunny QLD in Saturdays paper but they had driven it off the cake. They seem to like white cars when doing those features.
  6. Looks like a 4door KE25 to me. There used to be a couple of these cruising around Melbournes Eastern suburbs in the 1980s, one white and one that horrible minty green that KE25s used to be. I wonder if theyre still out there somewhere, maybe hidden away in a shed?? Would be a good score for a club car.
  7. OK what I've got is an 87 hatch with a 4A single cam and a 92 Seca twin cam. Can I take the clutch out of the hatch and put it in the Seca or is a twin cam clutch different to the earlier single cam clutches?? I havent played with AE mechanicals yet.
  8. What a great place for a cruise!!! My band is playing at the Currimundi pub in Caloundra Friday night from 8-30 till 11-30. why don't you all drop in and say gday?? Best fish and chips in Caloundra is Marsay Bros on RHS at the start of the main street.
  9. Gday all just chasing some info from you AE freaks. I just bought a 92 AE92 twin cam with a stuffed clutch and have a AE82 hatch sitting here for bits and would like to know if the box and clutch are interchangeable?? Havent done a FWD clutch yet but I'm sure theyre the same as all other Corolla jobs, easy when youve done a couple. Cheers, Andy.
  10. Gday all I bought an AE82 Seca off the local Council and its driven over something large and realigned the front end. I've swapped all the damaged bits over but even with the tierods wound out as far as theyll go the front wheels wont line up straight. I need either longer tierods to suit or something to put another 2-3 cm into the drivers side rod. Anybody had this problem or has any ideas how to sort it out???
