First post updated guys, girls group is a goer :y:
-
Hmm, on the couple of 55's I've looked at, the auto has had a STUPID amount of hoses, most of which aren't necessary.
-
A lot of Toyota ones are similar/same, so you should be able to find some easily at the wreckers.
-
Wait till your off P's, buy a car/engine that's fast in the first place. You'd get what, maybe a 10HP increase for a LOT of money? IMO, there are MUCH better and easier mods to make with bigger power gains.

I hate waking up at 3.30 in the morning and not being able to sleep :D

Because auto's blow. Full stop.

Thermo Fans Replacing Engine Fan
the_random_hero replied to Mybowlcut's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Jaycar do a thermo-switch kit, fully adjustable with hysteresis, etc. I don't believe they are too expensive either. The wiring isn't really that hard, IMO. When I have some time/money, I'll do it on the KE55 and do an article for you guys. -
I want to keep it to ten per group, just to make things simpler. Missus had a good idea today, she wants to run a female-only group. She's never gone on a cruise before, but definitely wants to go on this one. Anybody out there got girlfriends/wives who drive Toyota's? :lmao:

I laughed so hard when a mate of mine told me he was building a 4AGE that will redline at 11500rpm. Even if the oil pump somehow didn't blow itself to pieces (not to mention the rest of the engine), it's either going to have stopped making power at 6k or will have absolutely zero torque.
-
I'm trying to keep that to a minimum. A copy of all our meeting points and route of travel will be given out to the cops, so that should help keep everybody in line.
-
I edited the first post guys, there's been a ridiculous amount of interest in this. I may have to bump the groups up to fifteen cars, or make another group or two. I might cruise up there on Sunday and see just how many cars we could fit in the BBQ area.

Water Temperature Gauge Questions
the_random_hero replied to DouggehKE30's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Remove CD player (if you have one), get a DIN cutout mounted and you can fit three smaller gauges in there. I've done a couple of cars like this in the past and it's seemed to work fine for them. -
Haven't decided yet, it would be a straight-donation to a charity I'll choose at some point in time. Maybe World Vision, I've sponsored a child and donated a bit to them in the past.

Hey guys, just wondering if there's any interest in a Toyota-only cruise sometime early in the new year? I'm on quite a few different Toyota-specific forums (rollaclub, TOCAU, ASC, etc) and looking to see some cross-forum promotion. At the moment, I'd be leaning towards doing the cruise for charity, maybe a $10 donation - BBQ lunch will be provided somewhere along the way. At the moment we'd be leaving from Southside, then travelling north, past Australia Zoo and up to Montville (for epic fudge and BBQ). After that, back to Caboolture Macca's and then home. Of course rules will apply, anybody acting like a dick will be reported to police, etc so don't think this is an excuse to drive like a maniac and get away with it. At the moment, I'd be looking at running four groups of ten cars including a group leader. The groups are: dailies (I'll lead), modern (DJKOR from TOCAU may lead), classic (JiP_001 from rollaclub can lead) and modifieds (possibly MR2Mark from here will lead). If you're genuinely interested, you need to post your name, car and what group you'd like to be in. The charity I've chosen is RSPCA, so all the money collected on the day will go to them, extra donations are welcome :) As I said to somebody in a PM, as soon as Xmas is out of the way, I'll get right in to organising things completely. I'm also looking for anybody who has ways to get stuff like drinks/meats/salads cheap/donated to us and I might organise a "Cruisers Favourite Car" prize. I'm hoping to hit up a few of the local Toyota dealers on the weekend and see if they can donate anything to have for prizes. For those tl;dr's: *Toyota-only cruise, $10 donation (going to RSPCA) *8th of February *Leaving from southside (around Springwood), heading up the Gateway, stopping at Caboolture McDonalds, then heading past Australia Zoo to Montville. BBQ provided. *Four groups of ten (possibly 15) cars, groups broken down into modern, classic and modifieds. Each group has a leader, who will be driving an appropriate car for their group. *Maybe a prize for the favourite car of the day (from votes). Need somebody to try and help get donations (meats, drinks, etc) for the day. *You need to post your interest, as soon as everything is confirmed I will need more details (name, rego, car type, mobile, etc). EDIT: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION -MUST- BE EMAILED/PM'd to me before the 20th if you wish to be on the list. Name: Car: Rego: Group: Email Address: Mobile Number: I'm only going to have a copy of this so I can keep track of who's turned up or not, and if anybody does something stupid during the cruise.

Why? Worried about the poor cows? :jamie:

Excellent to hear you've got it worked out. We bled the brakes on the KE55 about five times, still felt like there was a bit of an airlock somewhere in the system. The pedal feels very light, but it still stops alright so there can't be too much wrong with it.

Wheels aren't balanced?

Control Arm And Strut Swap In 30
the_random_hero replied to SLO-030's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Who was that guy? I'm interested in doing the same front end conversion. -
That's a pretty common thing, unfortunately. The worse thing is when you spend about an hour signing up, then realise the attachments are out of date and no longer work :)
-
I'd daresay it's his engine mounts, you better have them replaced by the time I drop that manifold back off - I want to know how you did them :)
-
f@$ked your master cylinder while bleeding brakes. Describe how you bled them.
-
From what I know, crossmembers are different. You need to drill new mounting holes in the crossmember for it to fit, or just pick up a manual crossmember.
-
I believe it was his description of the symptoms.

Non-adjustable ECU :D I can't really do much about the lack of tunability on my POS :) -

I HATE e10, gets terrible fuel economy and loss of power on my car. 95+ for me, everyday.
