  1. yep i've adjusted the cable, the clutch has been installed the correct way around. i've done a bunch of clutches before, all with success. this is the first one i've had issues with. the only other thing i can think of, is if the front seal of the k50 is leaking ? altezzaclub, a leaky rear main does spraying oil around the bellhousing, which is a pretty sure fire way of contaminating the clutch plate. but as you say, i wont know til i strip it so ill pull it out tomorrow night after work and have a look. cheers for the link 19914afc, ill give them a call tomorrow and see if they can help me out.
  2. i must have installed my rear main wrong, she's leaking a bit of oil and my new clutch feels like its slipping a bit. anyone know if i can buy just the clutch plate from anywhere? pressure plate is obviously still good its <500km old
  3. that looks bombed mate. gotta say i'm a big fan. i've had no time to get creative with the grinder lately, unfortunately
  4. cheers mate. jelly beans had new rubber on them, ill put the original rims back on once i get the rears widened
  5. ahaha i'd be keen on some roof racks. dunno how you'd post them though ey. i havent actually pulled the visor off yet, is lowering it just a matter of cutting and redrilling?
  6. wasnt talking about your post crowie; i've actually found heaps of your posts and build threads helpful
  7. pull your head in ladies. I'm not taking it around the track, i don't want f1 handling, and i don't think the world will implode if i cut the springs. all i asked was "how low can i go until i start damaging my car". anywho, i might just experiment and put up some pics for all the people who can appreciate form>function. cheers anyway
  8. having a huge blindspot kinda sucks to be honest. other than that, i'm loving it.
  9. bog stock ke30 on a (generous) dyno, can't remember if it was 3k or 4k, made 28rwhp
  10. yeh just standard coils mate!
  11. how'd you go fitting the ca seats mate? much work to make em fit?
  12. alright guys, my ke38 is now rego'd - stoked. but it looks like a 4wd. i have spare struts & a spare leafpack with extra leafs so i can always convert back to stock if i need to. so, the plan is to cut the springs. tell me; in your professional oppinion- how much can i cut the springs in the front before i run the risk of damaging the car? churrrrs!
  13. haha cheers bud. it was a shame i never got it running with the 4agte, only had it running with the 4agze- and even then i spent more time finding replacement diffs for it than actually driving it. well, good news. monday i took it over the pits, with the following to be rectified; - rhs engine mount - adjust front wheel bearings - fit all bellhousing bolts (one was loose) - remove old rego sticker - wheel alignment so yesterday i got to work, fixed it all up and fitted a ke70 carb because the old one had a gasket leak and it was easier to swap the whole carb over. then went for a wheel alignment (which i believe made it pull to the left even more) but regardless, got a receipt for it. took it over this morning and it went over with no hassles. absolutely stoked. gonna order some retro plates for it, as the new ones just don't look right.
  14. alright bit of an update, got the day off tomorrow so i'm gonna take it over the pits. brakes feel a little bit weird, not quite warped but i dunno. hopefully its just a bit of surface rust on them and it'll go on the drive to the licensing place. installed the new struts, finished the wiring & did a few little things. all it needs now is a good wash. i'm excited, hopefully she'll be on the road in no time!
  15. thanks guys i've had heaps of rolla's before, but this one stands out i think. quite unique in its own way. it's actually a one owner, who passed away then some dudes bought it but never touched it. here is some pics of my old corollas, and my vl turbo which is my current daily until the panno's rego'd. its a bit of a pig to drive so I'm looking forward to the relaxed motoring offered by toyota haha
  16. so i spotted this panno sitting neglected at a petrol station, thought it was stolen and had been dumped. had a smashed window but looked like it was in decent condition so i left a note on it asking if they'd like to sell. few weeks later, the owner got in contact with me and a deal was struck and i got it towed back to my mates place the next day where we started to clean it up. to our surprise it came up exceptionally well. the back was full of jahova's witness propaganda and heaps of random shit. manky carpet and whatnot. it took a bit of work to get it running but it did run and drive quite well. the motor was a little smokey though, so i decided to pull it. a stroke of luck came about and i picked up another panno with good glass and tail lights and some other goodies. i then picked up a motor out of a ke70 that ran reasonably well. so i pulled the motor and gearbox, replaced the 4 speed with a 5 speed and got the new motor running. carby has a tiny air leak but it runs fairly well. other work i've done; - new front and rear main seals - new clutch - replaced front struts - installed pump up air shocks in the rear - replaced window & tail lights - 13x6 jellybeans so now its quite presentable and runs quite well. few little wiring jobs left to do before i take it over the pits. here she is after i picked it up and cleaned the years of grime off it; rear floor had haenous carpet pressure washed new motor cleaned up the 5 spd ive owned a heap of rollas in the past, this one is probably the tidyest. i'm just going to leave it stock, get the stockies widened to 7" 0 offset on the rear, slam it and put in a cd player.
  17. vl turbo's and corollas. two things i love! yours are exceptional mate good work
  18. yeh i did a 5k swap way back when into a ke35. goes straight in no problems. i think i had to swap the exhaust manifold over, but that might have just been luck of the draw. clutch gearbox mounts everything lines up no worries. can anyone clarify whats involved with a 2tg swap ? is it just custom mounts and getting the tailshaft sorted?
  19. everyones just going to tell you to do a search. 3k 1.2 L 4k 1.3 L 5k 1.5 L all will be a bolt in conversion. real easy. 2tg 2tc 3tc are the next easiest, theres heaps of literature on how to do it. then you start thinking about 4age 4agze ca18 sr20. all of which are expensive because theres custom fab work needed, plus stronger diff, better brakes and suspension and engineering and legalities involved. stay away from these until you have heaps of cash or heaps of skills. computer hacking skills, bowstaff skills etc. workshops will charge you heaps to do a conversion if fabrication is required.
  20. at the end of the day you're going to spend heaps of money and have a car that still isnt competitive. the chassis isnt right for drifting, its a leaf sprung rear end, small brakes all round and almost no off the shelf aftermarket performance gear. but because you're probably about 17, you're not gonna listen to what anyone says anyway. i didnt, i tried to make a slow car go fast and i learnt my lesson.
  21. yeah i read about your wagon a little while ago actually. although i think flares look tough, and much better than stock- this panno is in really good nick and i'd be a bit sad if i started cutting it up. i think the 13x7's are a no-go, i don't think we can come to an agreement on price. not too sure what i'll do. maybe just get the rears widened to 7.5" 0 offset, its fairly cheap. i'd love to import some modgies from nz haha.
  22. crowie those mk3's looked so good on that coupe. look bigger than 13's hey. the rims i'm looking at have 205/60/13 tyres on them. not sure if the fronts will hang out or not..
  23. killer thanks buddy. I'm on my phone unfortunately so searching is a bit difficult. Its for a ke38 panno, ill be dropping it as low as possible. Will check your threads tonight
  24. anyone know for sure about this? I'm looking at 13x7's 0 offset but dunno if it'll fit under stock guards?
  25. hey buddy, nahhh it wasnt the blue one, i've still got her she's going quite well too. i wanted a daily, but driving a crap non turbo vl is painful. i've still got that door for you g-nut, you'll have to pick it up before the next verge collection ! mods can lock the thread, first bloke to look at it bought it.
