not much progress this weekend. Just some prep and paint on the surface rust. Any one know where I can get a cheap sandblaster? not the whole contraption with box and etc. Just the gun with maybe a canister underneath attached to an air compressor. I wanna use it in the wheel arch's to get the rust out and then weld the steel in there!

Took it for a roady two days ago. I only need new front brake lines and to fix up the rust in the passenger, rear wheel arch. Fitted my head unit in the cassette surround. I found sika flex to be awesome as, just need to wire it up. i don't know how though haha! filled all the little support tabs on the boot and bonnet and man! what a difference. The noise is gone and when you close the boot it sounds like a new cars one! Also I have been sanding back the surface rust and putting filler primer on and i sanded that back today so it only needs a clean then i can spray with some paint. All the other surface rust that was on it i just sanded it back and just sprayed over the top of it. I should have probably used kill rust stuff ??? but ehh! its not gonna look pretty yet anyways ;) Function over form ! gonna get rego soon when my bank fills up again and yeah. continue on my L's! Whilst towing my car past tobrooke pool i saw the mintest looking ae71! Same colour and everything. looked like it came off of a shelf in some secret storing facility at toyota! I look forward to seeing it again :dance: I might buy it even! If 7shades doesnt get onto it first!

ahhh what the hell, Just get it :D Keep it in the back yard for spare parts! if the drivers door hinges are good ill take em :lol: I would want that interior so bad :( Put it in the Red one :) for the stock sporty/bling factor :)

I would say you would have a 50/50 chance with it. My gear box is that dirty as well. But I guess the only way to see is to do the conversion. Atleast you would have all the other stuff for the conversion even if the gearbox was screwed. Then all you would have to do is find another wreck and salvage that gearbox and if that ones stuffed aswel then make one good one of the two! I would love that interior :lol: Mmmmm! mmmmm!

yeah mate. JDM AE86 disk brake rear axel bolts right in and have an LSD from factory.

Do you run a external pressure pump and surge tank setup in your car? If so would you be able to put some pictures up? Thanks mate!

Sorry, So you prepped everything first. Then you went over with the sound deadener from auto barn, let it dry. Then you top coated it with a ( what kind of paint with fish oil? ) type of paint thats black and you used an air compressor and spray gun or what? I am gonna buy a Sand blaster and do all mine like you have done yours.

FOUND SOME RUST :P !!!! it was all bogged up in the left hand side, rear wheel arch/well. In the front of the wheel at the bottom to near the rear door. On bit the size of a tennis ball and on going through the fender about a 20cent piece. And at the rear of the tire down the bottom where the tyre Jack usually would sit. Down the bottom there. all the way through. I'm not pissed because I have a welder and steel at hand. But I am just gonna buy a sand blaster gun thing for a compressor and do all of the wheel arch's and prep them and sound proof them like one of the fellas has done on his thread on rollaclub rides, looks overrated and will last for ever :y: ill get some pics of it soon anddddddd! i got my horn going and put my new wiper blades on the reco'd wiper's. I was going to get a roady today. Called and they said bring it in thursday. If I have the rust done then I will take it in on thursday. Also found out that the rear left hand wheel is bent.

I changed out my Transmission Fluid this afternoon. Feels better yet again. I put about 2L in there. Is that alright??? Roady and rego soon hopefully! I also discovered some rust that has just been painted over to stop further oxidization, now I just want to know whether to sand it back then put rust converter stuff on it and then what? I don't know the process as to getting rid of the rust because its not all the way through its just little flakes. Any steps would be appreciated !

F yeah. your car is just as good as that R35 :y: Buy some 86 struts and Jdm brakes and put them in. I'm about to do it once I track down some JDM callipers and money :P

Went to see the car this afternoon. Stopped into supercheap auto on the way and got some filler primer, sandpaper and colour coded paint to match the car. Wet and dryed the surface rust and found some bog in the guards and below the rear passenger door. Its all good but there isnt much in there and its not to bad! masked up the windows and chrome and sprayed the paint on. Looks alright but its not very pretty. Thanks!

Reconditioned my Window Wiper's. Look awesome now. Not rusty and old!

what brand of coilover weld on sleeves and springs are you using. I'm looking at T3's right now and there nearly 800 american dollars.
