If you have actually ever sat in on an investigation of that nature, you would know that engineers do reports and submit them to the court ( the coronor) Who then puts together conclusions from what he has been advised from experts. Funny how this site brings out such maturity in members. Just face it if you drive a defective vehicle you will get get . Stop being sore loosers with the police , who are just doing a job to keep us safe. It just shows the rest of the world what wankers car enthusiasts can be at times .

There are some sensible members on this club who try to help one another. We need to respect laws that are put in place to protect us. Just because the car looks good, doesn't necessarily mean its safe. As Parrot stated, wheel spacers , and as for bump steer????????? what seems to be a small issue to some, doesn't mean you compromise safety over looks . At the end of the day we all want to stay alive to enjoy cars, not to die in them. Remember treat cars with respect, i have lost one friend to a very stupid mod made to a car he was travelling in. Coronor said, the altering of the suspension was the main contributor to the car loosing control at 100km . When it happens to a close friend you will look at this issue a little differently .

Good luck with your car, if you need anything I'm happy to help out, have a garage full of spares for ke20. Anything small like a stock steering wheel or standar rims etc. I know your pissed off but just relax with the comments towards them. We can all help eachother

This cop is just doing his job, by the book. No need to call an officer a prick for doing their job. There were obviously reasons why your car was checked over. No offence your car looks great, but when mods are made that clearly stand out, it only becomes a cop magnet. This is where us rollaclub members should research alittle harder into legal requirments when modifying our cars. That way when we are pulled up and inspected , we can correct the officer if he / she tries to pull it off the road. As long as our mods are all within legal standards they wont we able to crush it as they put it. I think he was just trying scare tatics about cubing it. Remember if we didnt have cops on the road checking cars, god knows what will be getting around unsafe. In the end it tries to create safe motoring for all road users. I know your upset about your car, and the officer may have been harsh with his words of 'cubing it'. Maybe he had his reason for saying it, i don't know. Hope you get your car back on the road asap

Drums..anyone Still Running The Fronts On Ke10+?
kexxxclub replied to KeRoLLin's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Drums adjusted correctly pull up better than the ke20 standard discs and brake calipers. As long as there is enough brake shoe lining left, and the drum itself isnt worn or, glazed or scored it should stop better than discs, hence why the use them on trucks . I run them on my ke10. When i bought the car it stopped pretty average, but once check the linings and wheel cylinders, i then just adjusted them with the drums on. Its a pain to remember which way you have to lever them ( up or down) but thats why i had dad next to me to remember. We checked which way the open with the drum off then placed it back on . Mine stops awesome now. I will be leaving the car stock as down to the brakes. Many peoples veiws differ on the subject of front drum brakes in vehicles. We all have our preferences, and different road uses and applications for our vehicles. I wouldnt recommend them for track racing lol -
Sent you a email to your personal email ad. And some pics cheers

i heard those passenger door mirrors were as rare as hens teeth in any country, i had one on an old 20 of mine and sold it with it, was factory . Ill add it to the list but good luck Oh and i will not be getting him to bring back any panels Eg gaurds, doors bonnets bootlids etc. will cost way too much to ship it

its my home country, lets just say somewhere in europe. If he does stike gold with these parts, which I'm hoping i may get him to organise a small wooden box to send em back here in. Please don't get hopes up as I'm just trying to see what i can get him to grab, cos knowing myself he will ring me and tell me what do u want me to get and ill be stuck for what i need or others need. This is why i thought it be a good idea to compile a list, then i can see what i can get him to grab, if its THERE! Just keep adding to list what u desire and i will pass it on to him before leaving. some parts listed already i have, eg upper dash plastics, i need to know which ones exactly u want. have a corolla badge or two maybe also

ah no way , way to heavy and i have 3 here at home

ok, i will be writing all this on a list and sending it with him, keep in mind, i don't know what models he has, i believe they are ke10's 11's and 20's as i didnt see any 30's or 35's when i was there .

hahaha, thats very funny, oh well you will never forget it again.

i have done 3 conversions on ke20's in the last 8 yrs. all the ones i have owned i converted myself, the things listed in the other post are all true and correct, except with the tailshaft , find out what size universal joints they have, there are 2 different sizes. The jap version is the smaller uni, and the aus borg warner version is the bigger uni. ( these are the things held in with the circlips which hold the yolks in place. You will just need to get the correct size manual yolk and replace it on your tailshaft. I have never found a problem with using it on a auto tailshaft. The reason you will have to change it, is cos the output shaft on an auto trans has fewer splines than the output shaft on the manual gearbox you will be fitting. Then when you are done you will go to start the car and it wont start :lolcry: , you will have to bridge the start inhibitor switch , which will be a white four pin plug, located under the carpet , just in front of where you removed the T-bar shifter (originally plugged into the t bar) . Make a small bridge wire, with male electrical terminals, and bridge the two black wires in the plug, then do the same with the two other wires. Your car should now start Good luck its quite easy, do it in stages, don't hurry your first one. I'm handy on the tools, it takes me around a day and half to complete at a moderate pace. Allow two to 3 days, or better still replace your pedal box one day , so the car is still drivable, go and have a beer , then do the other bits a day or so later . Makes it alot less stressful on your body Trust me. any questions msg me I'm happy to help out .
