  1. I have a 2T-B, internals have been balanced, 50 thou oversize pistons, just installed ARP conrod bolts, lightened flywheel, electronic ignition,Powerflow downpipe and 50/57mm Powerflow exhaust with one box. Double valve-springs and 288 cam, car revs to 8000rpm easilym Torque peaks at 4200rpm and we're still running standard carbs. Busy making an intake for 40 sidies. Have raced the car for a year now without any problems. So I'd go for the 2T
  2. Hey, I've got a Te71 and want to do more or less the same conversion. Do you maybe have part-numbers for the shocks, coils? I'm from South Africa and have to import everything but need part-numbers. thanks!
  3. Oh ok. Well i have never really looked into it, as my shock spring setup is more than adequate. They are KYB short strokes with 6.5kg springs. Do you maybe have part-numbers for this springs and shocks? I'm in South Africa and seriously need to stiffen the rear because we use the car for gymkhana exclusively and have a lot of body-roll. still running standard suspention at the moment.
  4. I have a 4AFE in my Tazz(SA). Have fitted a 50mm freeflow exhaust and 4-1 headers(41mm), filter, had it dynoed and it goes really well. A friend of mine took 1800(7AFE) cams, had them reprofiled, aftermarket FMS, port and gasflow, double valve-springs and the car revved to 7800 easily.
  5. Hi Guys, sorry for all the questions but I'm really struggling to find the correct info. What diff can I use that has LSD in the TE71?? Being in SA not everything is available. Some have said to use the Venture diff? Any help would be appreciated. Another thing, what's your feeling on lightened flywheel? Wanna lighten my flywheel by 2.5kg. Yay or nay??
  6. thanks man, will read through it a bit later. Is there any other struts that just fit in the original place with bigger discs and calipers? I also need to get negative camber. Any ideas??
  7. Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and live in South Africa. I have a 1981 Corolla 1.6GLS(2T-B). We have modified the engine(balanced, cams etc). I would like to lighten the flywheel as well because we use the car for motorgymkhanas. I'm still struggling with the suspention though. Any help??
