hey mate, awwwesome rebuild, doing it properly first time I'm doing the same with my ta22, ground up no nut left untouched lol i was hoping ya could answer a few questions did you apply any rust preventative paint or primer on the under body before the tar or did you just apply the tar to the baremetal? how much did it roughly cost to do it? did ya do it with rattle cans or with a spray gun? cheers keep up the orgazmic rebuild matty

so i got it relatively lined up few gaps but nothing that can't be filled, with a sliver of metal. got it tacked now just need to finish the taking then go round till no more gaps use a linishing disk to grind the welds flush, wire wheel brush surrounding area and rest of inner guard and move onto replacing the metal section where the battery tray used to reside.

ok so today ive started to replace the left inner wheel arch, i started by removing the inner arch from my donor celica and cutting away the fat till i was left with what i needed shown below then i cut away the corner which the quarter panel bolts to at the bottom heres the rusted and the repair piece and repair piece held in place heres the nice tiny size hole left in the floor pan and inner gaurd i also have to replace the backing for the corner piece which was not rusted in the repair piece so i just cut it all out into one big section hopefully by the weekend i can have it all tacked up or fully welded in so i can rust prevent it and then wack some Por15 and sound deadner on the interior and exterior of it enjoy

ok so 99% of this has been about my celica and not about my corolla so ill give you a bit more of an idea on what i have planned for it I will be keeping the body how it is just tidy it up, eg. repair the rust around the boot seal and inside the boot the only exterior change i will make is add a pair of chrome rectangle mirrors to the doors and order a white interior venetian blind rolling i might invest in a set of challengers or just run 14inch stock wheels with low profile tyres white walls engine wise, i will either go with a warm 5k duel carbs extractors pistons or a 5kze or te undecided yet. upgrade all the suspension brakes etc AE86 items but over all keep it sleeper but that might be hard with yellow in ya face paint, if it comes to it and its covered in primer patches ill respray it devil yellow and re apply the black pinstripe please let me know your thoughts and ideas on this

Cheers for that

i havent heard of anyone mention the RN25, ive only been told to search for the RN41, and i have access to a 78 hilux getting scraped and just wondering what series diff is in it, if its a RN25 or a RN41 SHIBBY! ill have ma bullet proof celica ass end and then a T series diff and maybe a T50 for my KE70

that is what one would call f@$kin tuffff, now just needs the grunty heart to top it off keep up the sic work
-
is the diff in a 78 hilux a RN41? and if it is how much would one be worth roughly with a noisy centre? id replace the centre with a g series lsd and use MA70 rear hub carriers, backing plates and brakes and would the brake booster fit a TA22? for an upgrade with the brakes?
