Geez Haky (can I call you Haky??), those photos sure are great!! My personal favourites are the Ken Graham one where he is leaning out of the window, the kid in the helmet on the seat, Bazza concentrating so hard on learning the motorkhana test. You have an amazing ability to capture the moment with such clarity!! While I love the car shots, it's the ones with people in them I love the most. Thanks for taking photos, we really appreciate it since we don't have the time (or the ability or the equipment etc) to do so on the day...

I can now be called the rollaclub WD QUEEN - I managed one and I haven't done a WD in years! Bloody Double Hat test middle orange pole *grumble* I also hit a pole in paddy, so mubblezzz or Fook should take out the no 2 and 3 spots on the rollaclub motorkhana ladder. I didn't get to watch fook once all day :-( as we were split into 2 groups, but I could sure hear him!! I have a hell-sore back and shoulders from wrestling with Redwarf (the car), I might have to go to the doc. I forgot just how: [a] much work difficult [c] FUN motorkhanas are. I can't wait for the next one - 29th August? is that right? Fook, I am not a member of the HSCCQ egroup, any results as yet? I reckon Rob would have come 3rd, 4th or 5th on handicap, he was ON FIRE all day!!!!

Damn, if we knew, we coulda got our birthday punches in yesterday!! Have a good 'un!!
-
The fun starts at 9:30 tomorrow morning for practice (read: squealies and skids - yeee har!!) and the "serious" competition starts at 11 am. Redwarf and I are REALLY pumped!! Would be good to have some rollaclub spectators! Hope to see yas there!

Cheez I look shitscared!! I'm almost sure he wasn't waving his arms around in expression, he was merely winding up for a backhander.....
-
Redwarf fanclub photo thread?? DON'T DO IT his head is big enough as it is!! Incidently, Mrs Redwarf is here with me now and she scoffed quite loudly and FORBIDS you from doing it ... and generally you do what pregnant women say or there's hell to pay!! I'm scared and so should you be!!
-
Thanks Craig - we'll definitely need you and PhatDat (or whatever you call it!!) for the sprint - if there is one - and the autocross. Ahhh very interesting.... which rollaclub people are members of what clubs?
-
Teddy, love your quote - Redwarf is still killing himself laughing!!! Redwarf has been very kind (above) - I was taking my new nav (batgurl) for her very first thrash at the Pat Kennedy's rally complex when it happened. Yes, quite scary, but the scariest thing was facing Redwarf when he came up to get us - I think he thought I had hit a tree or something (wouldn't be the first time .... errr, we won't talk about that either)... dum de dum... how bout those broncos?!!
-
... you mean, keep it. They've had it for the past 2 years running. Last year there wasn't really any competition, that's why it's my mission to gee up BSCC to try and knock you off your high horses!!

See Interclub Challenge thread for update on overall ICC scores....

Update: Provisionally, HSCCQ won the Interclub challenge for the Queensland Challenge on 24th July, but only marginally.... it is a real bugger, because the 2 BSCC teams put forward both did extremely well (both came VERY close to beating HSCCQ), now if only I had swapped Redwarf into one of the teams, we would have wiped the floor with HSCCQ! A bit of a disappointment where 2 of our team 1 competitors made major mistakes - shan't name names, but one gun competitor WD'd a motorkhana test by hitting a gutter, and the other suffered a 20min penalty late time... So, our team 2 was better, largely thanks to Redwarf. *grumble* if only....... The (provisional) overall Interclub Challenge results are: HSCCQ 27 BSCC 25 WRX 15 IWMAC 15 MGCCQ 10 Marque 9 GCTMC 7 We think the next round will be a motorkhana run by HSCCQ on October 17th, but we're having the next ICC committee meeting on 12th August to finalise the calendar, the rules etc as per previous post.....

The Interclub Challenge is a year long competition where teams from various registered clubs compete against each other in a variety of disciplines. Participants are given the opportunity to partake in a range of different low cost events and meet with, as well as compete against, other clubs’ members. It's heaps of fun but, make no mistake, there is HEAPS of rivalry and prestige involved too! At the beginning of 2004, the Interclub Challenge (ICC) Committee (made up of "co-ordinators" or representatives from each of the clubs registered in the Interclub Challenge) indicated a strong interest in including ALL types of vehicles into the competition. Previously, the ICC focussed on outright results and only 2 wheel drive tin tops were allowed to enter. The new proposal was to introduce rules allowing all wheel drives such as WRXs and specialist vehicles (such as hillclimb open wheelers) to enter. While embracing in concept, the reality was that 'ordinary' tin top 2 wheel drives could not compete directly with WRXs, hillclimb specials and the like! It was universally agreed that a handicap factor would be more trouble than it's worth, so the ICC committee set about developing a class based point-scoring system. Naturally, the formula for figuring out the 'worth' of a competitor's contribution to add to a team is not simple. The aims are: - to ensure that all types of vehicles and competitors could participate in the ICC; - to as best humanly possible ensure parity between makes and models of vehicles; and - ensure that driver / navigator performances on the day were the deciding factors. The formula developed a point system derived from a competitors: (a) place in class compared to all other competitors; PLUS (b) place in class compared to other interclub challenge competitors; PLUS © outright results compared to other interclub challenge competitors. It is a massively complicated (and ugly) formula. This formula is the result of a long and confused night thrashing throw scenarios and playing with numbers. Scott Doyle has stepped down from the role of the overall 2004 ICC Co-ordinator and Holden Sporting Car Club of Queensland representative due to work commitments. The other ICC committee members have decided to share the co-ordinating role and Craig Hornibrook is the new HSCCQ representative. Other competing clubs and co-ordinators are: - Gold Coast Tweed Motorsporting Club – John Careless - Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club – Eddie Fowler - Marque Sports Car Club – Allan Cunningham - MG Car Club of Queensland – David Homer - Surfers Paradise Auto Racing Club – Ferris Lee - WRX Car Club of Queensland – Mick Jones/Allan Kelly All feedback about the ICC is very welcome to me or any other ICC co-ordinators. We're looking forward to a really great and competitive remainder of the 2004 Interclub Challenge series!!

Fook - that is no fun!! you're 'sposed to say that you'll kick my butt!! If it is any consolation, the last time I motorkhana'd redwarf I REALLY sucked at using Redwarf's handbrake ie, I could NOT get the thing to mumbo flow the way I wanted it to. I would get one handbrake turn right, then stuff up the next one and so on and so forth. And, as you know, it is so important to get the flow of a test happening! Just got the attack of the killer nervous flutterbies in my belly, I'm well-excited all of a sudden!!!! Should be fun! I know Mr Redwarf is super pumped, he keeps sending me emails telling me how many sleeps and hours there are to go.
-
I emailed our forms off to Denis Baker but no response yet. I will call him in the morning to make sure it's okay. Am really looking forward to having FUN - Competition Datgirl will be staying at home and Fun Datgirl (ie, donuts, loads of sideways stuff) will be live and wired. Naturally Mr Redwarf will kick my butt, however, I vow not to care! I hope to inadvertently beat some others... Fook, I want your scalp!! *throws gauntlet down on ground* :S Oops, that was Competition Datgirl, sorry about that. Craig - pity about PhatDat, what's with the suspension? It looked mighty high at Qld challenge.

Can I bring my datsun?!! :P And I agree wholeheartedly about skanky *yawn* try hard chicks drapped over bonnets - puts me off buying fast fours etc completely.
-
errr no, that doesn't explain why you guys are choosing datto parts over toyota parts?!
-
I had the hydraulic (spelling :P ) handbrake installed in Dino (the Datsun 1600). I was lucky because the brake lines had already been moved to run through the car due to the brake bias. I bought the handbrake lever and bracket from Rod Biggar (Datsun 1600 rally guru) for not too much. He might have another one for sale though? Mr Redwarf (The Master) and I (The humble apprentice) mounted the brake lever and painted it to make it look pruddy. I then took it to ABS to get the brake line split and plumb in the handbrake. They looked at me REALLY strangely and asked me to explain what I wanted again. And again. I guess I looked funny in my grubby working on car clothes requesting they plumb in this brake so I could do skids at motorkhanas (motor-what??). In the end they refused to do the job! :P Datsun 1600 GOD *bow down* Ken Graham came to the rescue and put me onto a friend who did a cash job for me. And it works a treat to this day, just ask Evan. It's a little bit of a hassle but it is SO worth it and makes handbrake turns work that much better. Yay for Fook for getting the project going and YAY for the Datsun cross breeding that's going on!! Just proves that Datsun parts are cheaper, are easier to work with and more available than Toyota! :P

Oi!!! Mr Redwarf that defies the natural order of the world!! Navs before mates - I demand to get to drive dwarf home! *hmph* I spose i get to drive dwarf all day (brag brag), so I guess I could give up my spot....

-

I missed a bit of this thread, but I have 5.1:1 in redatto and I didn't have loads of power - well maybe a little bit... not nearly as much grunt as the white beast. I drove Redatto up to Gympie for a rally and had a raging headache from the noise in 5th. And that's WITH Redwarf supplied earplugs AND earmuffs (thanks Ansett). AND DEN I had to drive the (*&^ in the rally, finished, got seriously ... umm... inebriated afterwards AND DEN I had to drive home with a mammoth hangover! It was that very morning that I mentally sold the WRX and literally bought the tow car... ps. lurve the spelling fairy pic, she may have to go to work on the above?

Thanks Fook but it turns out that Dave and I definitely didn't win, we came 10th or something. The adding up was wrong. But that's okay, Redwarf still kicked butt, his results stand!! They definitely beat us! Well done Rob and Chris!!!!!!! ;) I think your results are right though Fook - CONGRATULATIONS, that is bloody awesome!!! :D
