  1. If it goes to the wreckers may i put in a request on the centre console? :lolcry:
  2. Try an electrical wholesaler like Haymans or Ideal. They sell or can find multicore cable. I've gotten 32 core control cable before. Pretty much it's 32 white numbered wires bundles in the one cable. They might even be able to hook you up with trace wiring or singularly numbered wires. At a last resort you can buy cable labelling kits - not ideal but a possible solution
  3. Thanks champ! Also any recommendations as to what size/brand mig welder is good for this work. We have welders at work but I think the mig might be too big? So it's a good excuse to buy one I guess. Also I think the filler rod for the tig would be more expensive than mig wire?
  4. Any suggested brands of body filler? Oh and what current/filler wire size makes for nice welds on this sort of gauge sheet metal? I'm not very experienced with welding(i can braze the shit out of copper, brass and steel to an extent) my experience to date is more arc welding. I can make shit stick together but its none to pretty. I've enrolled in a welding course(stick , mig and tig) which will hopefully teach me some correct techniques as my self taught ways make baby hey-zues cry! Last but not least, any one with any tips for repairing rusted out boot rubber lips? Rosie(my car) currently is weather proof with judicious amounts of silicon :lolcry: The best I can do at short notice...:/
  5. How much oil would you fill with to get adequate heat transfer? Surely not to the top?
  6. Hey all Been searching around and can not find anything specific about dash lights being dim. Just wondering if anyone has successfully replaced the stock lights with something brighter? Would these: http://www.ledshoponline.com/automotive_dashboard_bulb.htm T5 dashboard bulbs make a difference? From what I could see when I pulled the dash apart today they look to be the right size. I also installed a VDO water temp gauge today(As the stock one no works). All went fine, yet when I turn the lights on the gauge light flickers slightly. Would this be poor charge from the alternator(got a volt meter and oil pressure gauge on order....speaking of which anyone be able to tell me what size thread the stock oil pressure switch is?)? If I got my multimeter out on the battery would I see the alternator output or just what the current battery charge is? I've just bought a 75A VL Commodore Bosch item, yay eBay, and am looking for a later model KE Bosch item to swap the guts into in preparation of a stereo install. Anyways, Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  7. Nice work on the rust repairs Love those crown wagons  What sort of sheet metal are you using on your rust repairs? My KE30 will be going under the knife sometime next year. Haven't done any true rust repairs before(only bogged up old shitters) Anywho, sorry for the highjack. PS That crown is BEGGING for some 1UZ love.
  8. That would be too large an engine displacement, no? 890kg x 4 = 3560cc. Whats the exact displacement of the new alloytec ones? They're a 3.6L engine. That said, there is a GC(or GD) Galant wagon rocking around NSW somewhere with a VP Commodore V6 in it. Looks like it was meant to be there. However, i think the Galant wagon tips the scales at 1000kg's or there abouts. Edit: Just googled the commowhore v6 displacement, 3564cc. So close!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. What would be considered a mild cam/carb combo for a 5K? Is going EFI a reasonable upgrade path of chasing some extra powah/kilowasps?
