  1. hey mat e need that weber + kit and adaptor. can pick up tonight and may take them extractors off you too

  2. 5K's must be a fair bit lighter than 4k's for whatever reason. I bought a 5K with attached K50 last night and had no way to get them off the back of the ute other than my own two arms and back. So I pulled the gearbox off the motor whilst still in the back of the ute and lifted it out. The gearbox has bugger all weight in it so I'd say 25kg's would be a good guestimate. I was then going to seperate the head, block and manifolds etc to lighten things up so I could then heft out the rest but decided I couldn't be bothered as it was nearly 9:30PM and starting to rain again(plus apparently the sump is still full of oil...a disaster waiting to happen). As the alternator has been located on the other side to the manifolds on this engine(the 5K in Rosie, my KE30, has them all on the same side) I used them as handles and lifted the motor out. It wasn't too much trouble so I'd guess it weighing in around 100kg's? Might have been easier as I could keep the load nice and close to my body and it was distributed pretty evenly.
  3. IF you're going to destroy something you may as well destroy it in style :y:
  4. Ahhhh so close. How does it feel? Actually, answer that when she's all back together ;)

    Oops

I opened my eyes and did a proper search.
  6. I know where to find welders, just not that cheap :blinks: Now all is clear :jamie:
  7. If you want a V6 go a VVTi 1MZ-FE. I'd definitely look at putting one in my KE30 if I could.
  8. http://www.v6conversions.com.au/TOYOTA%20CORONA.htm <---Turn your KE70 into a Corona first?
  9. I like the high tensile steel rod to gear shift idea. Simple, old school but seemingly effective!
  10. Aww man, looked like a fairly clean car too. Where did you pick up the welder from? I'm hunting around for a mig myself to tackle my car cancer.
  11. That could be a very tidy alternative for the corona/pug/hilux set up with a shit load more options considering the after market support S13's have(off the shelf parts). Would make engineering a coilover/big brake set up just that little easier.
  12. Be daring. Put a 1MZ-FE VVTi in her ;-)
  13. What model Corolla are they referring to? Whilst the E39 is a fine looking vehicle I would not call it the sexiest of all time.
  14. Nice score! Wish I had a brother like you. I like the time permitting at the end...time makes fools of us all. I have a growing pile, of jobs and parts for my rolla....time permitting they'll find their way into my Rosie(what I call my KE30) Best of luck with the resto :jamie:
