Tire Blowout

Featured Replies

Hey, just wondering if anyone else has experianced a tire blowing up from just sitting around??

This is the tire from my Hardtop 55. It was sitting in the afternoon shade beside the house when all of a sudden it let out a massive explosion. I didn't find it till days later. The tire looked to be in good condition prior to this.

Yeah, my brother had the same thing happen to him, except the tire was on the back of his feroza and exploded while he was driving along!

Thats really really odd... thats massive structural failure.... even when we overpressurised a tyre once and it popped in a similar way It wasn't that bad

Maybe it hatched and there's a little baby tyre somewhere under the car looking for a feed :D

seen a blowout like that on a mates car, he had been parked for about 30mins but had just come from a 10hour drive. It was a really old tyre tho, had been sitting round in the sun for a fair while.

had that hapen on an old mustang i was working on in a single car tin garage, stiff drink and a change of shorts, not a problem!

they havent made that tyre in YEARS, just old rubber failing, if you had driven on it you would have been hearing a massive thump thump noise as the bubble got bigger with heat
