OK, so I'm having problem with my motors. So I'm starting this thread were people can throw ideas on what can be wrong.

Ok its a 4agze - its got a big port intake (the NA one), a big throttle body that goes before the supercharger, its got standard cams, variable cam gears (looking into possible problem with these atm), its running a Megasquirt ecu, with ford EDIS ignition system ie coil packs and a 36 tooth trigger wheel with magnetic pick coil. (1 tooth missing)

I've had to wire up the pick up sensor and everything else

BUT ive got spark, ive got the injectors firing. Ecu is registering that it's cranking and showing rpm.

Ok so theres my setup; now throw me some idea's about ANYTHING that could be wrong. Again anything that could be wrong. Including stuff like eg, fuel pressure to low, spark not firing right place. Mechanical problems

Ok.... GO!

PS it occasionally coughs and pops when I fiddle around with the injector opening times but ive tried tweaking it in these areas to no avail

Take the valve covers off and get some one to crank it over and watch very carefully and you will spot it if its happening.

have you got any cold start or idle controllers on it, as when i got my ca18 in they were cusing problems left right and centre, when i unpluged them it started

its a 'new' motor and it doesn't run, it doesn't start.

Its running an aftermarket ecu (said all this before) so what car it came from is irrelevant

back to head in a bucket..... feeling sik :)

how much would it effect starting if say...... the exhust cam was about 5 teeth advanced (5 teeth to far, wound it back)

I say alot but it should atleast cough and splutter more?

yes the MS will take any injector as long as you set it up right, which i didnt the 1st time.

I will look at the plugs after trying to start tonight.
