DR1FT Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 Down jetted and a adaptor plate ? i might sound like a bit of a retard but whats down jetted. . i found an adaptor plate on ebay for 40 bucks Quote
Des Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 It has jets in it now for the 2.0ltr engine you will need smaller jets for a smaller motor. Quote
tas_ae71 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 (edited) i might sound like a bit of a retard but whats down jetted. . i found an adaptor plate on ebay for 40 bucks it means that it needs smaller jets so that it dosent drown in fuel as a 2L requires more fuel than a 1.3L. you can't just wack it on and it will run unfortuneatly, but it isnt a big deal to get it changed.. its also webber.. nelpd96 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Ok I found it very hard to find any information of this when I put the weber on my 4K everyone had an opinion but no one had done it or was willing to pass on information so I will post my jet sizes to give you a start point. 1. Rebuild the Carb as a minimum 2. The jets are as follows: Primary Secondary Idle 50 55 Main 125 135 Air 160 165 That is just a start point for you but I find they are working very well on mine with no flat spot off idle or anything. It pulls clean all the way to readline. Make sure that you advance the timing on the dizzy or the car will bog down when you floor it because of the extra fuel. Cheers Paul it means that it needs smaller jets so that it dosent drown in fuel as a 2L requires more fuel than a 1.3L. you can't just wack it on and it will run unfortuneatly, but it isnt a big deal to get it changed.. its also webber.. This didnt turn out like I Typed it , with colums , but with a bit of goodwill I'm sure youll understand. jamesrolla Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 DR1FT the motor i had my set up on was a dead stock 4k with a standard ke11 exhaust and a hot dog muffler, went pretty well but ended up going to dellorto side draught, i also ran a ram flo filter on the weber, but i ahvnt got any pics of it sorry, was before my digital camera the difference with the kent engine carbys was that they were a 32/32 carby not a 32/36 like you will commonly find on 2 litre cortinas or escorts, Quote
