Emerson Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Has any one sucessfully supergharged a 4A-C. I was just curious as I am interested in seeing any resenable performance gians. I think supergharging is a great alternative to stand out of the crowd. I am also interested in 4A-C tuning as it seems not many people are into tuning them, they usually just drop in a 4A-GE.
smacko84 Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 hmm interesting... ill be watching this thread for sure... i vaigly remember someone working a 4ac quite heavily can't remember if i read it on here though...
Jono Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 whats wrong with just using a 4AGE? why try and be different and stand out in the crowd in the worlds number one selling car? Sure, if you have all the bits lying around in the shed AND you have heaps of time to spare, go for it. Yes a single cam carby 4A motor could be supercharged successfully but someones 'twin cam, 16 valve, forged pistons, out of the box' 4AGZE will still more than likely whoop it.
Nitephyre Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Why bother spouting on about the 4AG* when he clearly asked a question about the 4AC. I'm getting sick of seeing this in threads all the time. If he wanted to do anything with a 4AG* that's what the thread would be about. Sure, the 4AG* is a great engine, but it's not the only f@$king engine that Toyota has made. I don't care if I'm coming across as an arsehole with this post, but I get the shits with it sometimes. As for the set up, a SC12 will do the job fine, and you'll need to set up a blow through air box on your carbie. You will probably also have to chuck on a stronger head gasket etc. Of course, this is all info I've picked up from just reading stuff, never having done it, and I'm interested to keep track of this thread. 1
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 Well, yes... he was... Anyway... just thought this quote I read a long time ago may help... You can turbo/supercharge anything... as long as it has oil pressure! Just take a look at the turbo lawn mowes floating around!
Medicine_Man Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 Plenty of threads on this before, Going to close it before you get flamed, Search hard enough and you will find it..
