  1. I saw this on ebay not that long ago. Looks nice. I drive one as my daily. Samm
  2. Here's something I prepared earlier. Finished restoring mine last September, the funnest car ever. Samm
  3. I found a couple of photos, not the best indication of the colour but just so you have an idea. I know its a bit different with flat panels but would still look awesome. Kind of in the dark/shade In the sun I took this when driving obviously but it shows the blue. Actually looks a bit 'milky' but its just the reflection and my shitty camera etc. Samm
  4. Hey Mate, Pano is looking great. I wanted a similar blue for when I painted my moke. I ended up using a PPG colour which is a Maserati Blue, sorry I forgot to write down the paint codes and actual name when i picked it off the paint chip but its a deeper blue than Audi and the Ford blue and is also a pearl metallic. I don't have a great photo of my moke paint wise in the sun so you can see it light up but its an awesome hue, comes up really full and deep in the sun and in the shade has a deeper blue appearance. Just if you were on the hunt for a darker blue. Samm
  5. Hey Mate, Post up some more photo's of the car and the engine, I'm sure a few people would be interested in having a look. From the the two photo's you've uploaded i have the feeling that this was a KPROLN ae71 from Sydney, it had a 4AGZE in it at that stage too... Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Samm
  6. Chances are you wont get rid of it completely. With mine my boot lid 'popped' off the bracing so i filled that gap with silicone, i put on a new boot seal, made sure the taillights and every other bolt i could tighten was tightened and at the end of the day it was the whole rear panel (with tailights etc) that managed to rattle, and I'm not the biggest bass whore. I found that removing the melomine (sorry spelling) sheet from behind the rear seat increased the bass in the car and did lessen the boot rattle a bit.
  7. Pretty much everyone has advised you on what i was going to say. But with all the stuff we've polished here we found its a progressive thing, start with something rougher and work your way to something more fine. We start with a wet and dry sand paper as someone said to get that clear coat off, then depending on how bad the surface is we go with say autosol with steel wool, then autosol with a rag, Mothers have a great mag and aluminuim polish that we use next, then if its still needs a hit we throw a bit of that purple polish on there. Sounds like overkill but it doesnt really take that long once you get into it. Dad's polished up alot of the crappy looking alloy things such as his alternator and they've come up great. Someone mentioned a power drill attachment as well, we got a few attachements that we use in the die grinder to help get into the harder to reach places, like the holes in your rims. I found that if i took them off the car one at a time and when i was sitting in front of the television i'd just start polishing, makes the process that bit less boring and your in luck, bathurst is on weekend after next. If you do it properly the first time its alot easier to maintain the shineyness later on. Gotta love the look of a tonner with shiney rims, the centrelines look tough as. Had them on mine for a while but didnt have the width i wanted under the arse :y: and IMHO the standard WB front is probably the ugliest one to ever be seen on a holden, not a fan but your tonner looks tidy none the less. Sorry to go off subject.
  8. why not just grab a spare set of taillight lenses and use them to get it insured and then change them after?? Or does it null the insurance or something if your in a prang with the tinted lenses? btw man your attention to detail is crazy kudos to you.
  9. Hey mate, good to see someone socking away the dollars and doing sensible modifications in the right spots. Just wandering where you got your eyelids though? Thanks Samm
  10. they should have two brackets still, have a squiz under your car or down from inside the engine bay there should be a way of reaching the bolts...
  11. i lol'd so hard at that... congrats on the no so harsh result.
  12. and alot were built before January this year... Give us a bit more of a write up man and some photo's. Looks pretty trick though.
  13. LOL How do you forget!! Shouldnt be too hard finding a suitable replacement door though... 'Violence against women, Australia says no' ;)
  14. Hey mate, i just sat and read your whole thread. Its great to see plenty of home DIY'ing and that the missus is being involved. I know a few guys who keep the other halves away from the cars but truth be told they want to be out there helping too! Mine is always keen to jump in and help out where she can. Just on the whole matte black car discussion. I too toyed with the idea of can spraying my car but we recently sprayed my HZ one tonner (not a rolla driver anymore but long story short i hate hail) GM Black. Its more of a satin as opposed to matte or gloss and came up a treat. Paint all up for my tonner cost my about $100 (which isnt too much more than a half a dozen pressure pack cans would cost) and we just got a spraypainter mate to paint her once we had it all prepared. We left it straight off the gun with no clear coat or buffing and it sat rather flat. Just thought i'd mention good ol' GM black as a possible option if your on a budget. Ill try and find a pic of the tonner to show you how it turned out. Keep up the good work.
  15. yeah the dark green one, its the 'this is 40 year old virgin' car he points to. It looks rather tidy though.
  16. Thanks for the reply's guys. I might go with the 75 and whack in an additive. See how she goes. Cheers.
  17. Hi All, Just a quick question regarding what 'grade/weight' gearbox oil i should be using in my T50. Thanks Samm
  18. mate told me about grinding out most of the floor (unstructural parts of course) and just mig'ing in thinner sheet metal. I'd assume there would be alot you could remove, if your only limit is the exterior has to be intact. gutting the doors of regulators etc might add up to a little? i'd love to have the room and time to do some 'organised paddock bashing' video clips are a must.
  19. the ke70 ones seem to look the part. I think the ke70 'S' centre console was much smaller and just dome like over the hand brake, similar to the ke50 stock one pictured previously. Guess it depends on what you can get your hands onto, modifying one doesnt seem to be that difficult from what ive read. Plenty of people to help on here as well.
  20. quoted for truth lol'd at because it's funny.
  21. smacko84

    Ke70

more pics and videos please :rocknroll:
  22. dude where do you get your whitewalls/redwalls/orangewalls done  yeah as previously stated your Ke70's are always done to a high standard and tasteful.
  23. Guys, looks like the cruise was pretty successful. Would have loved to have been there with my KE70 but unfortunately i sold it Saturday afternoon and didnt want to take it out. Then last night in the big storm that hit Blacktown and surrounding areas it got busted up pretty badly. Cuzzo hope the 30 survived alright, i drove past your house around 5ish i think and it was parked on the foot path and about 10 of your guys were patching the roof and stuff. But congrats guys on organising a successful drive. Was thinking about making the next cruise in my sisters ae82 but that also got pretty busted up so not sure if that'll be around either. congrats again.
