  1. Hey guys... Apart from Rolla Bus, my other love is my restored Aus delivered 1959 Dodge! It runs a 360 with push button 727 TorqueFlight! Car was originally completely black, but the owner before us got the roof and wings resprayed white! Its not a bad paint job, but is only just starting to just show its age! The interior is totally original apart from retrimming the parcel shelf! After I have the Rolla Bus at the stage where I'm totally happy with it and have the room etc, id like to do a body-off restoration and add a bit of my own personal touch ;) Colour change, body and engine bay work, interior, 4 link and tubs :D While at it, I think a nice lil Hemi would look good between the rails! Id like to be able to accomplish most of this without ruining the heritage of it and if need be, can be changed back to original with minimal work involved! Will add more pics soon! Cheers guys, hope you like!!!
  2. hey again! here are a few more random pics of my plastic welding!!! ive finally gotten my rear garnish finished... will be getting it sprayed gloss black with my grill once thats finished also! And ive started modding my grill... here is how it started life... i cut out the area where the toyota symbol would have bolted to! then i fabbed a litte piece to fil the hole (sorry about the shitty pic) once finished, i sanded the daggy bits! looks MUCH better! i have done some other mods to it, but havent gotten any pics yet! I'm going to try and get it somewhat at the finished stage over the weekend, so will post some updates shorty! moe
  3. haha yeah it was originally used to spray trucks and buses! Its fine to use... just takes a LONG time to get it warm lol
  4. Thanks for the feedback and commetns guys! I have been slowly perfecting all the rough bits on the garnish and is VERY close to getting a nice coat of black! Will post up some pics once i have it in full primer! So far, I'm MORE than happy with it! Holy crap!!! That would have been one of the last shows I attended before I took it off the road! I think its more around 4-5 years since I was at that LOL Yeah it was at Highway Crash repairs in margate... Matt (the owner) has always gone the serious extra mile for me to get it how I wanted! haha yeah it was Howden that I towed it thru! And in the middle of winter... lol Wow, I never new there was a new tc.org.au (shows how much I use the interwebz lol)... Will have a bit of a gander later tonight or tomorrow night and rustle something up ;) Moe
  5. Trust me, there is PLENTY you can do to an ae82 ;) You can even make a 4ac tough as nails! When I first rebuilt Rolla Bus, I rebuilt my 4ac (because I didnt know about 4ag's lol), it had a stage 3 Crow Cam, re-jetted carby, better pistons and rods, double valve springs etc... lol, it had one of the toughest idles ever, it got mistaken for a rotory ALOT of times! What are you wanting to exactly do with the car? Used as a daily? I pretty much know these things back to front, if you ever need questions answered, let me know Moe
  6. HOWDY STRANGERS!!! Well, good news, I'm back into the rolla again!!! Still can't do much tho cause my back is getting WORSE than better :( So as tho I can't really do any stressing type work on the Rolla, thought it try my hand at some plastic welding! Most people would have probably shaved this part from the boot, but I don't think the rear end would have looked right without it... so I shaved the supposed-to-be-shaved part  The images don't really do it much justice, but I have deleted the horrid number plate lights, and have closed in the gap around the number plate it give it a cleaner look... The plate is just resting there to give you a bit of an idea! I know its not much, but this took a fair amount of time and to get it right :P Once I have cleaned up the rough spots and a bit of filling done, it will get a nice shot of gloss black!!! Will put some more shots up shortly with the finished product!!! Moe
  7. Thanks man... I looked thru your thread yesterday and was drooling over some of the carbon stuff you have done!!!
  8. Thanks guys... Ive gone too far with the car to give up!!! :P Looking forward to once its done... Planning on a few trips to Vic and NSW to join a few cruises and maybe a few shows :D
  9. Hey guys!!! Damn, been ages since I last posted! Well, my back has taken an unexpected downhill turn and still havent been able to work on my car :( She sits in my oldies back shed covered in dust and cobwebs :( I am now waiting to have an injection in my back to numb the pain! Hopefully this will work and I can then look for a job to get some coinage, which then means Rolla Bus can have some attention! lol I am STILL waiting for my door trims to be done! I am seriously loosing my patience with the upholstery company which were supposed to be one of the best in southern Tasmania... what a load of bullshit! Ive been spending the last few hours looking thru some of the old threads on others rides and its fantastic to see new rides and updates on old ones! I have to get some pics of the bits and pieces I have been working on (that my studpid spine will allow)! Hope to update you all soon! Cheers, Moe
  10. making an ae82 awd is one thing on my list of 'future mods' for Rolla Bus... ...but not for a little while yet... i have been doing some serious research and know this is going to be a massive undertaking... but this does not worry me! my idea is adapting a s13 rear subframe and most of the floor being cutup/modded! good luck with your ideas, will be very interesting to see how you go! if not, wait a little while and see how i go with mine haha
  11. you don't really have to change the carby at all... rip it off, and take it to a carby expert who could block off the polution crap and also jet it out for you so its a larger cfm :)
  12. hey mate... i built a very tough lil 4ac when i first modded my ae82... get in contact with crow cams and they will help you out with valve springs! they custom ground a cam for my engine and supplied it with some double valve springs! should suit exactly what you are after!!! cheers, moe
  13. hey mate... what size wheels/rims are you running? and how low are you going? I'm running 18" x 7.5 with 225 nankengs and mine is smashed pretty hard into the weeds :P what colour are you wanting to reupholster? are you going to do the interior? i think i still have all of my interior plastics from when my interior was black and red and all the plastics were done in BA Falcon roof lining which is a blackish/grey... i want to pretty much give them away as i don't need them anymore! :P
  14. holy shit! this is such an awesome build! huge props to you man :D gorgeous choice in colour also... i nearly painted Rolla Bus in this colour at one stage! you may have already said it, but did you self-teach how to do carbon fibre? did you read any books etc? is it hard to do? i have a few bits and pieces done, but want to do it myself :_ cheers dude, moe
  15. your hatch is looking good champ :D nice to see yet another ae82 being done! and parrot, MoPars are the shit :D :D :D
