I know this would take a fair bit of work to get installed, and I know it sucks that it's an auto, but I think it'd be worth it. I'd swap the whole drivetrain in, resulting in an AWD Corolla, which would be nice in a KE55 body. I might not be able to get it to sit as low as I'd like, but who really gives a shit? The straight line performance would make up for it. Pity it'll probably sell for somewhere in the $30,000-40,000 range (my guess, no one elses).

I'd love to be able to go to the auction and see what it goes for, but I've got to be at work. I'd also love to bid up to about $20,000 on it, cause I reckon you could EASILY make a profit off parting the vehicle out at that sort of purchase price. I'm sure others (with the funds to access) are thinking the exact same thing. The wheels alone would get about $1,000 - imagine what the brakes and engine would make!

Well, I registered to bid on that auction. Didn't notice that it was a repairable write-off. I was prepared to bid up to $10,000 (it's all I could access). Bidding opened at $40,000 and finished at $67,500. Just a tad out of my range, which wasn't a surprise.

Tercels have a shitty weak gearbox. Hilux drivetrain ftw. Use the 2.7L petrol 4-cylinder and 4WD transmission & transfer case with custom shortened driveshafts and custom front and rear diff.
