Redwarf Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Trawling about the place and i found this. Boeing 777-200 on jacks doing retracts. Outside. I get nervous thinking about jacking up a 737 with out a hangar. Standing underneath is right out, too. Quote
Clapped out Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Id hate to be the mechanics working underneath the thing, one would hope their pay packets have a massive 'danger money' bonus! :) Quote
7shades Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Those are some f'ken huuge axle stands right there... can't get THOSE at supercheap... Quote
Trev Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 How did you get to take pics in the boundaries, When i went to bris int'l to service some tugs i was right under the terminals and they said no photography at all, Would of loved to of got pics of the jets 50m away. Quote
Redwarf Posted June 17, 2007 Author Report Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) Found the pic on the web. I didn't realise there was a ban on taking pics, and I've worked on airports for 17 years! I think you had someone who was having a bad day, or were you trying to take the pics on a mobile? Either way a bit harsh. 7Shades, the front jack is a steady jack. With a Triple (and indeed most Boeings) you jack under the wings and by the tail. then when you're at height, you add the one at the nose. Planes really shake when you do retracts like that. Not my idead of a good time. Edited June 17, 2007 by Redwarf Quote

Dunno, This was 2 years ago and i asked if i could take a pic and i didnt mention anything about my mobile and he said no pics, He even had to stand there for the 2 or so hours i was there servicing (good ol toyota powered tugs, Atleasr he took me for a drive), You might have to bring that up at work or something.
