July 26, 200719 yr comment_188649 hi does anyone know of an exhaust manifold ( not extractors) for a 4kc motor that has twin outlets, the ke70 i have has a cast iron exhaust manifold that has a single pipe outlet, i would like a twin outlet. the motor and 5 speed gearbox slightly warmed is going into a Honda S600 roadster, also using the corolla rearend but narrowed, i'm using twin 1.5 inch su carbys. i don't want to run extractors unless there is no other option, if i could get a twin outlet cast iron manifold that would hopfully free it up enough. any thoughts?????? regards Ewen Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188653 Twin outlets manifolds come out on pre-1974 corolla's :P Anything after that is a single outlet. Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188654 Both interchangable. I pulled my ke55 twin out mani off and put a ke70 single outlet one on to do the j-pipe turbo set up. Twin outlets flow better than single. One thing to bear in mind though - if you are not using a stock inlet maifold (which you obviously aren't because of the SU's) you will be left with a hole in the top of the exhasut mainfold were the inlet bolts to it. You'll have to make up a plate to cover this. Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188655 Twin outlets manifolds come out on pre-1974 corolla's :D Anything after that is a single outlet. Incorrect. :P KE55's have twin outlets. I have found that basically anything up to KE70 has twin outlets. Report
July 26, 200719 yr Author comment_188656 are they available, should i look at wreckers, has any one got one laying around there back shed, i'm on the southside of Brisbane. and a carton of beer could be made available Regards Ewen Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188657 Taz, I looked in the ACL catalogue yesterday because I required a twin outlet exhaust flange gasket and the exhaust flange gasket lists a twin outlet up to 1974 and anything after that is single outlet. :P If a KE55 has a twin outlet, its because that exhaust manifold came off of an early model 3K motor. July 26, 200719 yr comment_188687 Every Ke55 I've ever seen (heaps) have all had twin outlets! :P Both of the 55s that I've owned have had the 4-2-1, with the 2-1 bit happening in the engine pipe as opposed to the manifold. Both of those manifolds I'm 99% certain are stock to the 55 too Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188767 and ke10's and ke20's (pre 74) had just a single pipe 4-1 style manifold with only 2 bolts on the flange instead of 3 like a ke70 has, so you want the mani from a 74-81 corolla, or a ke30-ke55 Report
July 26, 200719 yr comment_188831 and ke10's and ke20's (pre 74) had just a single pipe 4-1 style manifold with only 2 bolts on the flange instead of 3 like a ke70 has, so you want the mani from a 74-81 corolla, or a ke30-ke55 KE70 single outlet on the left......ke10 (one james is talking about) single outlet on the right. Also note the bigger ports in the ke10 mani. :y: Report
