hey guys, iv got a ae90 corolla hatch, and its a 1.4 carbie, 5 speed manual. this is my third car and compared to my mazda mx6 i had, its like a turtle. i am interested in changing the engine to a 4age and eventually putting in a turbo or supercharger on top of that.

i don't have great knowledge of toyotas so i was wandering if u guys could help me out. iv got a few questions.

1 how much roughly would a good condition 4age cos from the wreckers?

2 do i need to change the gearbox?

3 do i need to change the ecu, if so which one is best and how much?

4 do i need to change any engine brackets when putting in the 4age?

5 is there anything else i need to chnge?

thank you guys very much for any help.

I agree with the buy a damaged one and swap everything option, that way you have everything you need, here are some of the bits you will want:

-fuel tank+pump

-brakes

-engine and gearbox

-clutch + flywheel

-driveshafts

-loom+ecu

-all sensors and meters

its amazing how many bits you need when you actually do a conversion

What do ya reckon, maybe 300 at most for a crashed one... Cheaper than buying a 4age. Hit the auctions!!

Look at the seca i picked up for 300 bucks, The brakes were worth that
