gemzu Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 megz, keep em for motorkhanas or wateva Exactly
Pure-SX Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 If I ever befriend the turbo excel owner perfect gift idea :D I may change it to something like that eventually. The story behind Pure-SX, is was I owned an st162 celica SX I applied for Pure-SX only to be told it was "offensive to the public" after a few letters full of "constructive criticism's" they finally approved it the day after my car was rear ended by a motor biker.
ancullen Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 No one else was in the back seat with me I was laying on all of it - I love my leather seats Alone ey? I won't even begin to comment on that, aside from mentioning that leather does feel nice - doesn't it? :D who wants to come bridge auto's on saturday and try take TRD aurion for test drive? I don't fancy your chances. I'd probably have a shot because I look so damned old and they'll assume I've got enough money for one. :( Cruise tomorrow night - be there or be square I'm square - I've got an assignment due Friday that I'll be starting work on tonight. Adam was going to come last time but sooked out - so it was just me :fuzz: Boo-hoo. :fuzz: Are L&S the only specialist suspension mob up here? Am looking at getting my suspension checked out/fixed/upgraded. When I corner relativly I get a "jitter" going through the car, i am guessing my bushes are mc rooted, apart from that front rear swaybars, Also after a little reading about suspension, negative camber good for cornering? If so how can this be achieved? What am I getting done? Buying a set of rx7 calipers off adam probably going to get some ae93 gti slotted disks for the front. Head through window action lol. I will need some caliper brackets made up. i wouldnt mind a set of 16's, What I would like if I intend on keeping the same colour, same style of rim as mine but black with chrome lip similiar to what megz is getting. After a night of hard thinking, I have pretty much 99% decided to keep the car get the kit on and sprayed, get suspension.brakes done, once thats done if I want more power go down that road. I am sure I can turn it into some kinda weapon, all be it a torque steering weapon lol. (Turbo) P.S Does anyone know how to eliminate/minimalise torque steer. Or shall I get a new number plate TRQSTR? Learn your car before you go to change anything. And when you do change anything, do it one thing at a time. This was advice given to me by a suspension specialist I know. He REALLY knows his stuff, and I trust his opinion - big time.
Pure-SX Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Adam, you should come for a drive with me on a proper road, to feel the jitter my car gets lol.
ancullen Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 umm negitve camber is good for cornering but will reduce the life of ur tyres and can be achived through a wheel alignment,L and S are good but very busy i can't even get a alignment atm go and hav a chat to lachlin and tell him what u want from ur car as for tourque steer i think a lsd helps alot and maybe a stiff steerting rack so its harder to turn, semi slicks are also a good idea i think One of the main causes of torque steer is the drive from the gearbox has to travel further to one wheel than to the other. Compare the length of your driveshaft & CV joint assemblies, side vs. side and you'll see what I mean. Because the gearbox is offset to one side of the car, it will be far closer to one wheel than the other. When extra turning force is applied (through acceleration), the longer side twists a bit, rather than sending all the power instantly to the wheel. Hence one wheel receives more power/torque than the other, which results in the car pulling to one side. An LSD will prevent one wheel from lighting up unless the other is lit up the same amount (depending on how strong the limited slip force is). However, the main cause of torque steer is built into the car from the factory. Some manufacturers now position things so they have equal length driveshafts, but this costs money to design and develop, and as the Corolla is a budget car, Toyota don't bother. A stiffer steering rack won't have any effect aside from making the torque steer harder to correct quickly (without lifting off the accelerator). The pull to one side doesn't usually affect the steering wheel. You can keep the wheels straight and simply by one accelerating at a different rate to the other, will get a sideways pull.

Killswitch Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Heeeeeeey, anyone here used bus freight? And why the f@$k was it raining earlier?
ancullen Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 I've used bus freight before to send stuff - haven't received anything via them yet though. Was meant to but the deal's been cancelled. :D No bigport heads for me for the moment. :(
Killswitch Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Damn. That blows. I read that greyhound don't allow more than 40kg for a single item... so I hope that the bare 4age block comes in under that... Will find out this arvo when I weigh mine Hungreh as f@$k for now though, but got no eats.
Pure-SX Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Same I am starving I am hanging out for lunch ay, gotta decide whether I eat my shit from home or get a huge ass yiros.
