Crash Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 as the topic says.. what are some cheap engine conversions into a ke70.. I'm thinking maybe a 4age or somthing... how easy do they fit ?? or a ca18det...
Medicine_Man Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 4AGE - CA18 - SR20 are all viable options, 4AGE would be the easiest, but best to start with an AE71 (same shape as the KE70) just they have all the hydraulic clutch and A Series Crossmembers (4AGE pretty much drops straight in then).
irokin Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 SR20 would be tricky as they have a rather large bellhousing....not impossible though...
Medicine_Man Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 well its just plain logic, the bigger the engine, the bigger the shoe horn you require to get it in ;)
Teddy Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Get a T18 and use that crossmember, then build an insane T motor... cross flow head, 1.6 / onwards... the limits are your mind ;) (and the $!) if i had to build a nasty Ke70 / Ae71, i would be using a T motor ;)
Peter Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 anybody got a f***ing big shoehorn I could borrow?
irokin Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 nah sorry...how about this angle grinder??
Crash Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 what about a ca18de motor in to the ke 70??
irokin Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 DETs another story. Ive seen them hitting 9,000rpm....
Crash Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 yea well ive got the motor ecu and loom for one sitting here doin nuffin... i havent got a ke70 yet if use think that... ive got one i can buy.. $500 ... 5spd man, don't know what motor, sun roof, umm yea pretty good nick... just not happy with the motor crappy carby shit :)
Crash Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 lol wots the price for a 4age then ???
Xany Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 thats cause they are all loking for insane K motors..... cause k motors have more class...... Bwahahahahaha...... i am evil :)
Crash Posted October 29, 2004 Author Report Posted October 29, 2004 how hard would it be to kit a ca18det into the ke70 then ???? what would need to be done etc.... ??
Crash Posted October 29, 2004 Author Report Posted October 29, 2004 yea look ive read that thread.. doesnt give much info... just asking like whats needed.. if anyone knows.. or how hard itll fit .. a ke55 is different to a ke70...
NickZ Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I have been thinking of that conversion myself. but the engines here (Tassie) are around $1000 mark for a CA18DET. $450 for 5 speed gearbox. Ive got the microtech ecu alerady fitted to my ke70 so that part is easy for me and bigger radiator. My biggest problem is CASH..I don't have any :jason:
