Taz_Rx Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Pretty much any corolla 180mmx21.6x19T clutch kit should fit your starly. The EP71 starlet kits are the right diametre (180mm) but the spline isn't right for a k40/50...however it is right for a K-T50. Personally, I think the PBR replacement kits are better than an RPM heavy duty kit. Does anybody in NZ deal with Rocket Industries in Sydney!? If so you could just get an exedy heavy duty kit out of them. http://www.exedy.com.au/ Here's the kit you want..... http://www.exedy.com.au/catalogue-details.asp?id=39000638 Available in heavy duty and HD button Quote

Felix Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 If you want to use a standard replacement clutch, I've found the daikan clutch plates are better than PBR. They grip harder and wear less. Quote
WinKE55 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Wow thats wicked mate thanks. I was expecting a reply along the line of "can't do that idiot" or something so cheers mate. Don't underestimate the members here. They have helped me A LOT with my stuff. I owe a fair bit to them. Since I am only new to mechanics and owning a rolla ^_^ Hope all goes well with your clutch! kangaroosa Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 I have an Exedy Sports Tuff clutch behind my 5K. I've had it for a few years, and it still feels brand new. More than enough grip for a 5K, whilst still having the std clutch pedal feel. Best of all it was only around $150AUS Quote

Taz_Rx Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Your clutch guy is on drugs!! :bash: Tell him to stick his 190mm plate up his arse and see if he notices the extra 10mm!!! :lolcry: I'm 100% confident on this as I was told by the grumpy old guy who regulars your local K forum! :bash: :fuzz: As stated above the EP71 clutch WILL NOT FIT as it is the wrong spline for k40/50. Only T40/50. Why not contact rocket directly in Aus for an exedy!? Or if you know somebody in Aus, get them to buy it for you and send it over, and you pay them!! Quote
