The word is that we will NOT receive the V6 Corolla (or Blade Master as it's called in Japan). Apparently the next Corolla-based product we can expect will be one of the Scion's rebadged for the Australian market as another Toyota model, aimed more at the youth market. My bet would be on the new xD.

Well well i was seriously looking into v6'ing my old seca with either the 2.5litre 2VZ-FE or the 3.0litre 1MZ-FE from the camry. From what i could find on the net and some basic measurements (length and width) it would have fitted..... just

But all in all i wonder just how close the two models will be in chassis, engine mounts etc - the Scion and the v6 rolla. And how long before someone swaps in the v6

Or how long 'til someone imports a JDM blade master

As a personal import, sure. But I'm not paying $100 a month for 12 months to park it in Japan... then there's the problem of supplying evidence of use etc...

What about race/rally import? A lightened/prepped one would be a reasonable Targa weapon...isn't Neil Bates due for another lash at Targa Tas. :drgrim:

The Scion will have the 2.4L 2AZ-FE at best. Possibly a supercharged variant, but I doubt it.

The Scion, Blade, Blade Master, Auris, and Corolla all share the same chassis (wheelbase, width, etc) to the best of my knowledge. Not sure on the engine mounts though - I presume each vehicle would have a different cross member. Oh, and the Blade also has the IRS setup whereas the Corolla has the torsion beam setup. Not certain on the Auris (it may vary from market to market) or the Scion.

Blade Master's only come with a CVT at this stage - the S2000 Corolla would be FAR better suited to Targa. That or the old Group N Corolla with 3S-GTE. :lolcry:
