Jono Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 how long will it take for your chaser to land? Quote
7shades Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 It will land in about 4 weeks... customs, compliance etc will take another few weeks after that. Quote

78_7kRolla Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 i am really really jealous of you! Congratulations on the chaser, i could never understand why toyota never brought them to australia. I thought you needed to own the car in japan for 12 months if you wanted to bring it into the country yourself. Anyway, thanks for making us cry. Matt. Quote
7shades Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Posted March 4, 2008 (edited) i could never understand why toyota never brought them to australia. Matt. Apparently they had considered it.... about the time the model swapping deal ended with Holden (think corolla/nova, camry/apollo, commodore/lexcen) they needed a replacement in the "biggish sedan" class... a few models were considered, amongst them the Crown and Celsior (still sold in Japan, and VERY pimp) and the Chaser... but because we're a country full of useless lazy morbidly obese gastropods, they decided the rear seating and legroom wasn't enough. Moral of the story: If we weren't so f@$king FAT, we could have the option of driving a locally delivered Chaser, rather than the hopeless slab of unremarkableness that is the Avalon. 7shades Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Did not see one old rolla the whole time. Not even in the Toyota museum. Oldest I saw were a few hachis... Quote
philbey Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I'm pretty sure the Chaser and its sisters were considered as an alternative to the..... wait for it..... Avalon! some Toyoguru will probably clarify that? Quote
7shades Posted March 19, 2008 Author Report Posted March 19, 2008 Go back a few posts... I had a rant. Quote
