kickn5k Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 This is the proposed cruise from lylidale to Noojee. The town has two pubs and a nice picnic/bbq area also. I thought that lylidale would be a good meet point as it only makes an hour and a half trip, and would be a central point for eveyone seeing as there would be some coming from frankston ans some from the marsh. Any ideas on the lunch spot would help too. stu. Quote

I'll jump on the Parks website and have a look at the BBQ facs around the place/near by and will let you know! Doe's this cruise go anywhere near the Spur? I was also thinking possible more then 1 cruise point as in cruise to this one then have another one or a final one where we can have the lunch at. Cheers, Simon Quote
1984KE70 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Alright i called up Parks Vic. And these are the 2 closest parks with BBQ's etc from Noojee! When you click on the first link, click on Search For A Park then look for Yarra Ranges National Park. It's 3rd from the bottom. http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm <----About an hour's drive from Noojee. http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=193 <----About 30 min's drive from Noojee. Both have car parking too. Well Tarago does anyway. Let me know which one... Cheers, Simon Edited March 27, 2008 by 1984KE70 Quote

TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 don't worry, were looking! Alot of us would be up for a longer cruise but then alot of us won’t be either. One thing to consider when looking at a longer cruise is, well, the time involved. I’m one of those people that always want the run to go for longer, look at our Athurs Seat run for instance. I didnt even get to bring a decent car and I had a ball! The problem with long runs is the fact that we all have to get home at some point, looking at the trip from Noojee it will take the marsh crew over 2 hours to get there via Lilydale (whereis.com so not accounting for traffic) and about the same to get home, add another 40ish minutes for the Ballarat guys. Even Frankston is almost 2 hours away and that’s where the majority of the crew will come from... aka rent-a-crowd! Anyway, the rant is getting to why the run was going to be an hour and a half plus pub/bullshit time, so that will be another hour, hour and a half easy. so when you look at it this way Tate, Kate myself and Deano will have an 8ish hour day on our plates! Mind you, Tates nuts so he won’t mind a bit :nervous: On another note, I'm really liking the enthusiasm your showing towards getting a run crackin, I'm sure I'm not the only one! You’re as bad as Tate! (So thats what... 3 Tate refs so far??? Jeeeeez) Keep it up, the run WILL happen, but it will happen when time permits. Things just seem to fall into place all of a sudden with runs around here, shouldn’t be long now. JP Quote
GZE82 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 pls don't have a run too soon, my 86 has just been in for a full rebuild and will need to be ran in a fair bit before i give it a bit. found out that valves and pistons don't mix when they touch!!! :nervous: Quote
dfunkt Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 |blink| branding me as nuts!! well, i guess so considering how loud and badly my 20 is running, yet i still drive it down the GoR! and rather than taking it off the road and getting it fixed, i sell my daily and have to use it 24/7!! but on another note... Simon, set a tentative date ~ 1-2months away...this will give people a heads up on when they'll need to be kinda organised, and also let you know what weekends are out due to weddings and other major arrangements. and because everyone's so spaced out around melb (well, we're all mainly from the country/non-metro areas) it takes us extra long to get the can's and string connected for conversation/discussion/planning. since you have a route planned already, it's up to us members to work out which dates we can make, not which route we can do. i had more stuff to put here, but it all went out the window since i got some chocolate and pizza in me :nervous: cheers dF Quote
1984KE70 Posted March 31, 2008 Author Report Posted March 31, 2008 No problems guys, cheers JP! So weekends are out? I was thinking of a sunday to do this...So if not a weekend what are we thinking in terms of during the week then? So most likley late April or earlyish May? Thanks everyone for your input! Quote

I'll test drive the KE55...Is there anything that i should be looking out for besides rust? Quote
dfunkt Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 you really shouldn't be looking at the rust either. they come from factory with it :abuse: but seriously, dash gauges, interior condition (carpets, seats, roof lining, door trims, plastics) and the famous rust places (rear guards, lower front guards, radiator support panel, chassis rails, boot, fuel filler area, corners and edges of windshields) Quote
