Hey guys as title suggests just wondering wither a late model KE30/KE55 silver dash would fit the earlier ones?

 

And are the earlier ones all in one, like dash top and all?

looked at this years ago and thought it was too hard.

I think this has been covered before, and the answer was no.

 

The early ones are one piece, and having just changed my dash to a new uncracked one :abuse: its a bit of a job taking it out.

 

Personally i like the early style dash over the later one, but its up to you.

Yeah I was just wondering because I have a overrated late model dash top laying around, and the one on my early one is buggered.

 

Sammo, so yeah it was a big job getting it out? you have to take heater, fan controls etc out?

The heater/fan stays in, everything else comes out. I'll be doing this swap soon in my KE36.

Ah okay, Jip are you swapping the original dash over? or putting the late model one in?

My KE36 is an early one that currently has a late dash. I'll be swapping it back to early.

Also, you'll be needing to remove the metal frame that suports the dash too and replace it with the frame from the other type of dash.

I did this in a ke35 I had once. You can do it, as JIP mentioned, you have to take the whole metal

framing out too. Only takes a few hours including a good clean. Worth doing if you prefer the later model

dash as I do...

Should be, I can't remember much of when I pulled the early dash out of the donor car. I'm sure that the speedo ones might be but there is no real need to change clusters anyway, keep the old one. Secondly does your early model have the rear demister?? That might be differant.

Yes it does, but i swapped mine to a kill switch:)

 

I could just relocate it to the other demister.
