Here is a stupid question... what the hell does it mean when you lock a diff?

 

your rear wheels always turn at the same speed and same time even when turning.

Welding the planatery gears in the diff together so it spins 2 wheels ALL the time at the same speed.

 

An open center will get your reflex's going in the dry, Just takes more effort to get it side ways.

And, a lock diff means rear tire wear will dramatically increase.

 

Would make your car even harder to sell too..

If you were buying a car and the owner locked the diff, wouldnt you think it had been thrashed or driven like it was stolen?

i got a mate with a ke70 with a weldie and it is just rediculus for a road car it shudders trying to park the bloody thing

 

but then on the other note i own a couple of padock basher with weldies Best thing since sliced bread :cool:

Hey Josh,I remember you tellin me u didnt wanna take ur axles out and if u don't wanna take ur axles out u can't weld ur diff. need to have the center out of the housing to weld both sides of the spider gears.
