now that i got your attention lol

About to put K40 box onto the 4k, just need to clarify a few Q's before i go dropping motor in

1) I'm assuming if the clutch is not alingned properly the gearbox wont go on? i think i have it fine, box goes on and comes off ok.

2) How is the throwout bearing attached? i know it sits ontop of the Clutch fork. but what next? just put box on?

3) How do make sure timing is good before i crank over motor? the dizzy was half out when i got motor and i want to make sure its not way way out of timing, like 180 degrees backwards or whatever.

4) i got 2 4 speed boxes. the one I'm going to use has 2 prong's for something electrical to hook up..what it is? and where is the plugs?, the second box has same, but also towards bell housing it has a nut with a wire running out with a plug. the plug is like a flat connector.

Sorry for ltos of Q's, just need to make sure I'm heading in right direction.

1) no

2) two wire clips holds it to the bearing carrier

3) take the rocker cover off, take the dizzy cap off and turn the motor over by hand. Should be pretty obvious when the timings right.

4) neutral? doesn't really matter just hook up your reverse lights and all's well.

thanks

The bearing is attached to a bit of metal already. I'm guessing thats the bearing carrier as you mentioned. what hold that to the shaft? when you move clutch fork thingy towards motor the bearing moves with it, but when you return it the bearing don't return to normal. make sense?

Got a box full of gearbox bits, plus gearboxs laying everywere (as you've seen ) so I'm sure we can find you some wire clips Dan. :lolcry:

Found some round headlights for you too btw.

I'll show you what the reverse wiring is when you come get the clips. :y:
