ae174agze Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) i had another rides and projects page but it was too many pages long and filled with mostly crap so i got the old one deleted so heres my 4agze going to be turbo this is the baby i'll be throwing on it the car out the back ATM because I’m striping a ae71 that had small front end damage parts will be for sale soon also i got a set of t18 drums to put on the t18 diff thats in the shed the insides are fairly tidy although my car is also my shed for inside car parts ahahah not the best insides but I don’t really care what it looks like just how it goes got a few ks on it but its the lowest one i've ever seen in darwin so now it’s getting going, I see some long days and nights ahead cheers Edited April 14, 2009 by ae174agze Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Is that a T2 off an ET/EXA? If so it gunna be too small for a 4age!!! It'l be responsive as hell with no lag and heaps of torque, but you'll stuggle to make decent top end power. ;) Get atleast a t25 or t28 for it. They have the same T2 inlet flanges, but a different dump flange. But once you have these flnages, there is HEAPS of bolt in future upgrades in the Garret GT25 and GT28 families. :lolcry: Quote
ae174agze Posted June 20, 2008 Author Report Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) nah mate its a disco potato or GT28rs 350hp moddle .70 ar on the front .64 rear Edited June 20, 2008 by ae174agze Quote
adam-__- Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Oooohh I'm interested to see this project! From what you've told me, this is gonna be interesting. Keep us updated. :lolcry: Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Ah thats better! :lolcry: Was either T2 or DP, with the push on (as apposed to bolt on) compressor inlet and outlet. Hard to tell sizes in pics so I guessed a T2 from the waste gate position. ;) Quote
ae174agze Posted June 20, 2008 Author Report Posted June 20, 2008 yeah i know i took a look at that pic and, hrmmm that does look small but when its real life that turbo looks huge Quote
ae174agze Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 just a small update fellas the engine that’s in the pics is pretty much smegged i did a comp test on the engine and got about 140, 90, 49 and 130 a wet test produced about 5-10 psi rise on all cyl's and i'd say the valve stem seals are rooted as well when i look up the exhaust side of the engine, i can see the stem of the valve all dark like its covered in oil generally that makes a big white puff of oil smoke when you start your car, so looks like its smegged and in need for a turbo rebuild waited so long for this engine and it arrives smegged ahahahah not a good start :bash: :y: in the process of putting the 4ac back in just so i can acutally drive it. Taz_Rx Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Did you remove all spark plugs when you did the comp test? Ie had the other 3 going puff puff puff? Quote
ae174agze Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 yeah had all of them out when i got the test done probably turned it over 4-5 times to get a good reading on each cyl and we did the engine twice to make sure it wasnt the gauge stuffing up Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Just checking as I made the same mistake myself a few weeks ago. Oh well, sounds like a good excuse for forgies and H beams!!! :bash: Quote
