Hey guys just wondering what way you turn the air fuel screw on the carby, if you want to make it rich and make it lean?

in = rich

out = lean

In = lean because it cuts the fuel

out= rich because it lets more fuel in

Clockwise = Lean

Anti-Clockwise = Rich

KE20Rolla's carby seems to be different to TazRx's... I'm going with: In - Rich, Out - Lean

How I said is how its been with every mazda carby I've played with, as well as my old model plane motors. Don't know if it differs from carb to carb.

 

If you wind it out and the rpm rises its because you're leaning the mixture, not because you're adding more fuel.

Tazrx and Philbo are 100% wrong with the way that they think that the mixture screw works to make the car richer or leaner.

 

I had a look in a corolla k series work shop manual and another manual and both say the same thing.

Next time you have your car idling, just screw the mixture screw in all the way(clockwise) and I bet you anything that it will stall the car, as this cuts off the amount of fuel going into the carby. :hmm: :( :(
