i think you should swap me your rocker cover!! some twit "shaved" the original lettering and shit off mine and I'm not a fan of it, makes it looks too much like an sr20 lol. Have you ever tryed getting spark plug leads for the 2tg? I've tryed heaps of places and they say ohh yeah we can order them in, then 2 weeks later ohh our supplier has ran out of these years ago. thats happened 3 times so far :) , trying my 4th now. same with a freaking exhaust gasket!

Yeah, I'm not much into looks, if you want to swap rocker covers we could probably do that, you would have to pay all costs though. I have a fairly overrated set of plug leads spare, I payed $50 for them, you can have them for that, I'd put them in with the rocker cover. Completely up to you, thanks for your interest in my car.

Having interesting dramas with 'factory' 3tgte setup, will let pictures explain...

... dump pipe can only be bolted 1 way to turbo, looking at 3tgte pics, turbo is facing the correct way in engine bay, it physically fits O.K. but there is no clearance between exhaust manifold and dump pipe. Before I get grinder out and force it to fit, why has this happened? Maybe its a "late" CT20 turbo on an "early" 3tgte exhaust manifold? Please help, have just about got everything sorted to turbo it, now this shit happens. :dance:

Idealy, all of your 3T-GTE bits would be from a actual 3T-GTE motor (TA63 Celica / Carina/ Corona). And in this case, the dump pipe would be facing down, as someone has said.

 

Clearly your turbo or dump pipe is off something else, as it faces differently.

 

Maybe you should call up som Toyota wreckers/importers around Australia to see if they have any 3T-GTE stuff. Or put a wanted notice up on Toymods. Or, custom dump pipe.

Thanks guys, went back to seller, he agrees, its not a 3TGTE dump pipe, hopefully the 3TGTE one will be one the way soon. Picked up the MT-4, loom and 3TGTE manifold complete with everything needed to wire her up, WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! Getting real excited now, can see some sneaky late night exhaust-system-less runs coming. LOL Then maybe transplant of driveline into something slightly more modern and less ugly...

Thanks guys, went back to seller, he agrees, its not a 3TGTE dump pipe, hopefully the 3TGTE one will be one the way soon. Interesting info (and cheeky preview) for all: TE72 and AE71 wagon wheel bases appear to be absolutely identical!

Well a 2TGTE anyways, just had to join the Leaf Sprung Axle Trampers Club. How do you Tassie boys reckon I'll go with rego.? (Its one of Mookie's old busses)
