kickn5k Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Has it wedged the piston?? Might pay to strip it and give it a clean. Quote
leigh Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 Yeah she was wedged in, Pull it down this arvo and gave it a really good clean. Will reinstall it tomorrow and go for another drive to get a tune with boost pressure now! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 What time you going to be heading out? Byron and I might come out for a little drive for something to do. :) Quote
leigh Posted October 11, 2014 Author Report Posted October 11, 2014 Should of sent me a message Si! Took it for a spin and now have boost, Got an issue of it missing now when I get to 4000rpm So need to look into that. Also burnt the shit out of my forearm, BOV gets abit hot hahaha Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 All good mate, another day. Does the megasquirt give you a read out of injector duty cycle? You might be pushing the limit of them already. Also what plugs and gap are you running? Quote
leigh Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Umm Bp6ey I think they are off the top of my head.... Unsure of gap. I'm thinking it may be the injectors, As it was fine when I had that boost leak. Now she doesn't like the extra psi haha Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Get some b7es in it with a 0.8mm gap Quote
leigh Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Yeah righto ill grab some of those. Good ones are they? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 That's what I've been running for the last 6 or 7 years. 1 step higher in heat range and they have a shorter electrode which is suppose to help the spark being "blown out" under boost. Heard of them being used in anything from a blown 202 to an rb25. In other news I've made some good progress in the last 2 days on my custom cas, so hopefully I won't be too far off freeing up some 315cc injectors for you. I'll text you some pics of the cas. Quote
leigh Posted October 17, 2014 Author Report Posted October 17, 2014 Those photos looked awesome Si, Seems like you have been keeping busy! The spark plugs sound like they are the go!! Got some yesterday so will hopefully put them in today and see how it goes! :) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Hey Leigh, have any improvement with the other plugs? Cas is finished now btw, just gotta pic it up from Hobart. Quote
leigh Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 Haven't tried the new plugs... I changed them and haven't started the car yet. The old plugs look like they have been burning lean to me!? Â Happy with how the CAS is coming along? Â Quote
leigh Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 Josh also gave my some 7mgte injectors aswell. Thinking I should maybe put them in..... Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Yeah looks a little lean, throw the plugs in and see how it is (you'll want them if it fixes the miss or not) and if it doesn't sort it out get the new squirters in. 440cc will be plenty big enough. Â Really happy with the cas, machine guy did a great job, even machined me a cap out of Teflon. Will cost me an old bumper from the shed and a six pack! I'll upload a whole heaps of pics soon but I'll text you a couple in the meantime. Quote
leigh Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Posted November 24, 2014 New plugs haven't helped at all, Miss is now lower down in the rev range. Going to reload a tune from when it was running well and go from there! Rising rate fuel reg has become rather noisy now also. Not sure if that could be causing me an issue at all Quote
