brendan Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 hey people i have a ke55 ...would a 4afe be a good reliable motor to stick in ?? cheers brendan Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 won't hear me say this very often  ......but a 4AGE would probably be a better option. Easier to fit (with RWD variant parts) and a better motor anyway. ......then you're just another white dot in a green paddock!! :) Quote
brendan Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 haha i heard the onlii difference between 4age and 4afe is just the head is that true ...are the blocks the same?? Quote
Budowski Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Interals are a little different but socially the same and the 4AFE has a whopping great distributor hangin out the back of the head, but can be modded as per what the 20v guys do. Hey if you can pick one of these engines up for next to nothing with loom and computer why the hell not and they still have a nice rev range and are very smooth. I was thinking of doing this just for kicks myself. Quote
Felix Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 If it wasn't for the dizzy sticking out of the back of the head, a 4afe would be great for a daily. Better than a k series in a later KE with a bit more engine bay room, and weight. The earlier 4afe is rated at 76kw. Compare that to a 5k at 48kw. I've got a brand new crate 4afe sitting here, and keep thinking of how well it could go in my ke16. Stupid dizzy, it is the only thing that puts me off. Quote
towe001 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 won't hear me say this very often :D ......but a 4AGE would probably be a better option. Easier to fit (with RWD variant parts) The 4af series only has the un-drilled bosses (or what ever their called) for the rwd mounts. Don't know about the later 4age blocks but the early versions have the bosses drilled and tapped for the rwd mounts. As for the dizzy can't you get an 90deg adapter mount ? You can for suzuki g13b twincam... Or at least crank sense it ? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Should be able to do to the distributor what most people do with the 20V when converting it to RWD (the 20v distributor is in the same spot) Quote
