KE ping it real Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) Hey Travis Go to a wrecker and get yourself a High energy coil or at least a Medium energt coil :P It will work with the standard one but you aren't getting the full potential Edited October 15, 2008 by KE ping it real Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) you could take of the ceramic ballast resistor maybe. but just goto the wreckers and grab a coil of car without points. I'm running a Bosch GT40 High energy coil on my ute which has an electronic ignition. Ive heard they are very good coils, havent had a problem with mine. just a note, i know with Bosch and maybe other high energy coils have a part number starting with HEC (stands for High Energy Coil :P) Edited October 15, 2008 by KE25 KID Quote

trav_555 Posted October 15, 2008 Author Report Posted October 15, 2008 ok sweet as, ill see if i can find one tomorow, need to sell some ebay shit to get some cash.... Travis Quote
Medicine_Man Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 You must use the correct coil to suit the distributer, Taking the ballast resistor off one thats meant for a points system will slowly kill it. f@$k the shit bosch coils, Find a good denso one and you will never regret it.. Quote

When I got my 4KEU electronic dizzy, it came with an Echlin coil that needed a resistor, that worked perfectly fine...agree on the Bosch crap though, Denso stuff is heaps better Quote
