Yeah+1 for a name, I have a fuel hole i have capped with a heater cap but need a more permenant solution for as fuel + rubber = fail

I really like that colour, not sure what you should do in regards to engine but with the wheels, anything with dish and in the colour of shadow chrome with a polished lip would set it right off with that colour Nice buy though ;)

Thanks Mick, I agree about the tubes however i can just carry some extra cable ties around with me so i can take them off at any shows HaHa Next step after getting it all functional will be hiding all the wiring and tidying all the hoses up etc then down the track i may add some braided lines as well All in good time though, I'm just happy its a few hours away from being back on the road

Just thought i would post a few of these up, they are from last year and were taken for mens health magazine, but didnt make the cut They wanted photos of me and my hobby but didnt end up getting used but some nice photos of the car They are a few months old now but i just like the way the car comes up in them

I also hav a Brand new Bosch MEC718 coil to install next weekend as well s that will no doubt help

Righto, got the timing mostly sorted now and actually got to take her for a drive I am so impressed with the power upgrade of this engine!!! Such a massive improvement over the 4k, so much more torque and power its awesome!!! For such a reasonably easy conversion i would do this again 10 times over a 5k conversion Even on the shit tune, shitty coil (i have another one to go on now) and jetting needing to be done it went so hard compared to what it used to Even my mate who has an LX Torrie with a LSX engine in it was impressed with the power Will get stuck into the tune next weekend and should be back on the road, I highly reccomend this as an upgrade to anyone wanting nothing to taxing with mods, who still wants to keep the older style engine but wants more power A couple of photos with the new air pods on the ram tubes Ill try to post a vid up nextime

Ok so dizzy is now working :party: It seems (and I'm not sure of all the correct part names here) but the centre part underneath the modules that is connected to the weights was slightly seized to the shaft so the mechanical advance wasnt actually working, like it was locked Got it freed up and advances really well now Still may need to play with the curve though, we set the base timing at 20 deg and still couldnt get it to ping so will play with it a little more and see itf the springs need to be changed I love the torque and power of the 7k though!! Farkurnelll even un tuned there was a massive increase over the little 4k can't wait to see how it goes with a good tune

HaHa, Yeah i guess i might have confused the mechanical advance not working for the timing being set to retarded to begin with...... much like myself

Absolutely, but my thinking is i can't get the proper advance because what i thought was 15deg was more like a 0 or negative base and i was only getting 15 when i raised the revs up I think anyway, i don't really know, i am confused but learning :)

Great, thank you for all your help guys By the sounds of it we were using the wrong tools........US Will have a go at setting the timing without the vac advance on and see how that goes Thanks again Andrew

Ok so ive pulled the dizzy out and the pulled the top off it, the shaft isnt locked up and the springs and weights all look to be ok (moving freely) The one thing i will say is that when we set the timing, we did the base with the vac advance tube on, is this the likely cause being that we are trying to set the base with the vac already in play?? my mate thought it might be something to do with the module playing up? I don't know if that would be a symptom or not? Thanks for all the help so far

Nah its not an efi dizzy

I hope so Adam, i can't wait to drive it, ive also got ram tubes and filter pods on the way for it as well :)
